....she's a she! those are the early so-called preflowers, the first sign of sex,... as for bract vs calyx, it's something of a botanical clusterfuck there,.. most credible sources use bract, citing the true calyx is a very thin tiny sheath that wraps around the ovule (prospective seed) that's nested at the base inside the bract,.. the ovule is what the pistils are attached too,...they catch the plooen grain, which shoots a fertilization tube down into it to deliver the genetic payload,... ..hairy delivery guy, just like in the porno's!
