Live Stoner Chat Its Official, Canada is Legal !

This is turning into quite the fun thread.

Boogie: I've been unable to play my ESP plugged in for two months and change. Get this, I got a POD HD500, that sounds GREAT. Anyway, had it for about 3.5 years...rewind to 2 months and change ago...I went to go plug in to my POD, which is actually serving as a preamp into the FX return of my Line 6 SV head...100w, four 6L6 power tubes, which was designed by Reinhold Bogner of the legendary company Bogner Amplification...anyway, went to put the power connection into the back of the HD500 and...nothing. YAY. No electric guitar for this guy. A day or so later I cleared my famous kitchen table (from the foodie thread, lol, Bushy and Greenie know) and started pulling screws and feet off the HD. An hour later and I got this bitch in 5 pieces and a magnetic dish with about 40 fasteners and things that hold shit together. I really thought it was a cracked or cold solder joint on the main board where the barrel connecter power component is attached....because when I was trying to turn it on, it was working when I pushed hard on it...so I gots this things in piles, but I got nervous about taking out the main board, which I need full access to, as it's mounted upside-down. So I set it down and it sat....until today!! I was feeling a tad rambuctios and got back into it. I cleaned the whole thing with canned air, contact cleaner, and my Shop-Vac...there was a teeny cocoon on the power leads!! Nope. So I get done with the cleaning and I had my Fluke meter out...I plug the AC 120v to DC 9v @ 3000ma power supply in. Green LED is on...K...so I check the barrel connecter on the end with the meter and....nothing. Hmm. I cut it off 10" behind the barrel and checked the raw wires with the meter. 9.2v. K. Used the continuity setting and checked the 10" end I cut off...dead. K. So I dig up an identical barrel connect from my parts bin of wires, and splice it onto my working power supply...put some things back together on the POD....plugged it in...YES!!! WE HAVE POWER!!! I played for 2 hours and it was just great. It was a good day (kind of)...lol. Just wanted to share this guitar story with Mr. MESA/Boogie. Cheers buddy.

PS: Come join us on the AFN food thread. Everybody eats. Take a pic and stick it up...lol

And you two: Greeny and Snakeman15/Gunny15, man you two are everywhere...lol. Small world. When I do the food thread thing, sometimes I forget where we truly are, and that we are farmers on AFN, rather than just some peeps on a food thread. Good times. Take care you two, see y'all real soon.

Damn...I write some big posts

Nice work Dr.B. Funny you should mention the repair. I worked fixing electronics for 10+ years before my hands gave out. Thx for the invite to the food thread, I'll definitely check it out tomorrow. Hope to see some recipes in there :D

My girl (and me) was curious how long u played for? Most Boogie cats are usually in the decade plus camp, which means you know your way around a fretboard. Awesome about the electronics fixing...I am a wire/signal guy. I love troubleshooting, making super clean splices and clean wiring in general, and long walks on the beach. I also love DIY lighting and all that fun stuff. Check out the DIY section here as well as the GrubHub. KAAAAHBS?

Also congrats on the title of this thread....that's HUGE....NY is possibly following in your footsteps. Just heard on the news today that it's on the docket for recreational use across the state, and NYC is no longer ticketing/arresting folks for simple possession and use. As long as you don't have any prior felonies, and you aren't trying to carry around a half pound, you're good to go. The world is changing for the worse....but at least we can FINALLY smoke some fuckin herb without feeling like we done something wrong.
