Hi guys!
About to embark on my third grow, bit of a break since my last but I’m keen as!
Timing is terrible coming into summer, especially for an attic grow, but I just can’t help myself!
The beans
1 x jack herer
1 x Dutch passion cbd compassion lime (grew this last time and loved it)
The Grow Zone
2 x 4 x 6
Coco Coir (hand water) 70/30 perlite - Sensi pro brand mix
Sensi Pro Bio Diesel - whole lineup (will attach their schedule)
Organic derived ingredients, not certified organic but hearing good things.
Have some left over Canna rhizotonic and Mammoth P, rather old though.
Professor nutrients ph up and down (organic)
Fabric pots 3 gallon or 7 (no fives in stock and I cant find my old ones!) thoughts?
Electricals
Optics 2 205w dual cob with diode “bloom boosters” (uv/ir)
2 x optic 1 xl’s 100w each full spec.
6” AC infinity inline fan
2.9kw portable AC fan hooked up to an inkbird thermo controller
Air stone and pump for 24 minimum water bubblyness
Bluelab EC pen and Ph pen
First time in coco, so any words of advice are always greatly appreciated.
The plan...
Beans in wet paper towels getting their feet wet as I type. They are nearly 2years old now so I’m counting my stars and hoping they’d be lucky.
Gonna follow nute manufacturers schedule but following C.E2’s coco guide with regard to the PPM’s especially. I’ll mix nutes a little stronger in ratio and then dilute as necessary.
Have read that Cana rhizo is ace to get them started in coco, so gonna mix some up with a very little bit of the green diamond A&B (base) and the supernatural to an EC of .7 or there’s about with a ph5.7.
Beans will get dunked and then go under humidity domes with misting of plain water as necessary.
After the first day of above ground I’m inclined to stick with plain water for the first few days. With the precharge of the soil I think they will be fine.... correct me if I’m wrong and need to go straight into feed mode.
I found watering in a circle around the seedling and not directly to the base worked great last time, but with coco, I ain’t so sure.
I see a lot of people saying you cant let it dry out, not just for the plant, but for the actual substrate; hydrophobia, ph imbalances, etc. Does this mean full waterings to run off from the get go?
I will start with just the optics 2, no bloom boosters, at a height of around 70cm.
Ambient temps outside the tent are all over the place in general, not making it so easy to keep it constant. Ac steps in at 30C, extractor comes with a controller with smart mode, every 2c below setting it drops a level, 6 levels in total, goes max at 28c. We’ll see how that pans out.
Two questions... 3 or 7 gall pots and any advice on the coco pre charge before planting would be ace.
Thanks and happy growin!!
