Indoor Jamezito's first grow! DP's Auto Ultimate & Dinafems Kush n Cheese

Yeah i know what you mean grim. I'm going to sow the rest of the quality seeds tomorrow and give those 6 my full attention :) Can i ask you about the prop lights...? should i have it close or far away? At the moment it's about 6 inches away and they seem ok.... i think. Any thoughts?

I assume you are talking about the T5 lights.I have never used these type of lights before as i use a Hps from start to finish so dont hold me on it but as far as I know it varies from light to light but some where between 3- 8 inches ( depending on the wt) is the recommended distance for T5 lights. So you have yours spot on if im not mistaken man.

Day 7 update.

Hello amigos! Just thought i'd give an update on how my little babies are getting on :) I pulled out the first three seeds i sowed because i didn't know anything about them (Bag seeds) and i replaced them with the remaining seeds i had left, 2 x Kush n' Cheese & 1 x Auto Ultimate. So all in all now i have 2 AU's & 1 KNC seven days old and i have 2 KNC's & 1 AU 3 days old.

I'm really happy to say that all of the seeds have sprouted and the young little girls are taking off! :) I'll ad some pics below for you to take a look. I found it a little daunting researching all the conflicting information about the germination process so I'm going to write a little start guide for anyone in the future reading this. I made some minor mistakes with the first 3 i sowed but once rectified the remaining 3 seeds responded much quicker! It'll save hours, believe me :)

1. Soak the seeds in some warm water, more than room temp, about 30 Degrees Celsius.

2. 12 hours later sow the seeds (Second time around water was warmer and they had begun to sprout after 12 hours)

3. Place the seed either up or down. I think the reason why there's so much conflicting info about this is because it doesn't make a blind bit of difference! I sowed some up and some down and they all sprouted. When placed with taproot up they got a little twisted but always got that little head up :)

4. Try to keep the temp between 20-25 degrees Celsius and the humidity between 80-90%. High humidity i know but once i began to leave the top of the propagation box on the seedlings really began to respond. The reason for the high humidity is because the leafs soak in moisture through the air while the root is searching for new pockets of moisture and growing. I made a big mistake watering twice a day!! The roots were being fed water occasionally so they didn't have to expand and search for new food.

5. Only feed the little chicka's when they dry out. This will be great for your roots because they will be searching and GROWING :) at the same time getting much needed moisture from your humid environment.

Thats all i have to add as far as the germination process goes. Please bear in mind that this was my first time germinating and i'm far from a pro! This is working well for me so i can't see why it won't do the same for you.

Here are some pics of my little girls... I got my kit as well (almost all of it) and there's some pics thrown in of that too.

If anyone has anything to add or ask or anything at all please drop a line :) Big thanks to all the pro's helping out this rookie :)

Once i started to water only when soil dried out.

This is the set up at the moment, once they are a few days older they're going under the 600W hps. Hopefully i'll have my pulleys by then :)

Wow man. Very impressive start to your new found venture into a new world of awesome. Where the grass is much greener, and the buds taste much cleaner.
Not to mention it always smells lovey around these parts.:Windy: lol.

So, I got to say man. Looks like to me you did a lot more research then I did when I jumped into it. I just looked up the general stuff, and jumped into it face first. Learning as Im going. I just have a few grows under my belt, but Im always willing to help. I got a lot on my plate. So, I may forget to check sometimes. Though, I wont be a stranger man.

I would say good luck, but it looks like she is already on your side man. Positive you should have a smooth ride your first round. I...uhhm..was not fortunate enough for that hahaha. In growing cannabis. There is no such thing as mistakes, there are only lessons.

P.S. I made a lot of lessons out of my first grow in a half haha.:dunno::tiphat::Sharing One:

Thanks for the kind words man! :) Great to have you on board :thank: Yeah it seems lady luck is on my side for now so i'll be very nice to her to keep her around :) Very wise words my man about lessons learnt :tiphat: I'm sure i'll be calling on you in the future when i think a new lesson is unavoidable :) I'm learning new stuff everyday about growing, I love it!! There are so many cool people here always willing to help and share their knowledge, I think it attracts more positive vibes and in turn reflects on the grows! The little girls are taking a nap now and i'm actually counting down the hours before i can go back in there and have a peek! This is the best hobby a person could have. Delighted you dropped by dude, talk to you later :)

They look great man, really nice and healthy. Great little write up on germination too.

Thanks Grim! Dude it's making it much easier for me to know you guys are here to help me out if something goes a bit wobbly! The little write up was just my way of paying back some of the excellent advise i got a few weeks back before i started. I hope it helps anyone who wants it because there's too much info on the germination process and you feel a little helpless because all you can do is wait it out! I'm delighted they're making their way up now and soon i'll be firing up the HPS so i'm very excited to se their reaction :) Anyway dude i hope your well and the grow is going exactly as planned. Karma coming your way amigo! :)

Cheers dude.

Hello guys, I have a few questions regarding my first grow. Can you take a look and tell me if they look ok?
It's probably easier if i upload a few pics and ask the question with the pictures.

Here are my seedlings, some are 5 days old and some are 9 days old.

This one is having a hard time keeping straight, i'm supporting it my mounting some soil to keep it upright. Is this normal?

With the soil mounted

In general do they look healthy/ok? I have no idea as this is my first ever grow so i don't have anything to compare to.

Are these ones ready for HPS 600W?

I have them a little over an inch away from the T5 propagation lights (2 x 24W) but the one on the far right seems to be stretching compared to her sisters??

Your help is really appreciated. Thanks in advance guys :)

The stretching is normal, plants will lean to whatever side they are getting the most light. They look healthy, but I would suggest you put more distance between you lights and you plants I'd say at least 8-12inches away until they hit strech. Be careful you don't put you 600w too close also. Your gaining to want at LEAST at foot using a hps
