Lighting Jock Horror AF w/ 600W BS LED

I decided to harvest the Jock Horror AF last night because of an infestation of fungus gnats in the soil medium of the other plant that was sharing the tent. I killed the baby Northern Lights AF because of this. It's now time to clean, clean, clean!

The Jock Horror AF is rather small, but I'll post some pictures later today or this evening. She didn't have much of a smell while growing, but the second I put a blade to her she gave off a very pungent odor...for us gardening type people that pungent smell is a well known odor. I like it...my wife - not so much!

I did a cursory trim job, certainly not perfect, but most (if not all) will go towards tincture anyway. I can't smoke or vape for a few months because of a lung issue. However, I'm eagerly learning the art of tincture making. So far, it's working and working well. I use gelatin capsules and an eyedropper; with the tinctures I've made recently, I fill and take four capsules for a good high that lasts about 5 hours. Lately, I take four capsules when I get off work and I'm set for an evening of enjoyment.

I would never have tried making a tincture if not for this lung problem. When I first found out I was not going to be able to smoke or vaporize for several months my mind actually started to panic slightly. Finding this method of inducing cannabis really makes things easier for me. Sorry for rambling...I took four capsules about an hour ago.

This whole plant will be made into tincture! First time I've ever done that.

Agreed. I miss the smoky aftertaste from a good bong hit. My lung problem has nothing to do with smoking, but it's fairly serious. Very similar to Asthma, but can develop into a much bigger problem if I keep smoking/vaping. I just need to lay off for a while then all is good again. :tiphat:

Harvest Pics

Here's a few harvest shots. Not a huge plant, but the stuff looks pretty frosty. I'll post the weight in a few days after drying ( won't be much  ):

Buddy 420, fungus gnat can be easily catched with this.

And soil could be treated with hydrogen peroxide.

You say you have constantly fought cal/mag issues despide giving them additional Ca/Mg. What about a little nutrient lock becouse of acidic soil? Have you checked?

Fungus gnat is mostly attracted by too wet soil. Could overwatering be the case?

I didn't know about the peroxide treatment. Thanks for that one! I should have looked it up before killing a child...

I also think you are spot-on with the wet soil diagnosis. I'm normally pretty good about checking soil, but I had not taken into account the temp differences switching from HPS to LED. At any rate, it was my own dumbass fault.

You also bring up a very good point about the nute lock. I used rain water for feeding for the life of the plant. What I failed to do was ph the water at every feeding. I ph'd it once at the beginning and it was perfect so I didn't think about doing it every time. I just tested it again and it is slightly acidic at 5.9. It's hard to tell what I was doing to that poor little girl...she was probably stressed and locked so I'm surprised she didn't hermi on me. Thanks again Gonzo!

LED does not make high temps around so it makes plants intake smaller. That is why any overwatering is dangerous and wet soil need up to 3 weeks to dry out, especially if humid around. In the meantime you lose control over feeding because you are not allowed to water any more.

Fungus gnat is attracted by moist and will most probably hang around even after removing all infected soil. Once they showed up in my closet I see them constantly. But cheap yellow trap attracts them as they hang around and sooner or later they get caught. That what you see in the picture above is caught after cleaning everything out. So next time do not be late with catching them.

It is easily solvable problem if you know it, as well as ph issues.

So you pulled everything out and go for a new one? With perfect ph, dolomite lime in soil to stabilize it in the future, ph meters, little quantities of water and that is it.

My friend, if you have medical problems you must make the best healthy ganja for you. And the only healthy ganja is that one that shows you happy face all the time during veg and flowering. Otherwise you get some crap not medicine.

Again, I agree with you for the most part. The weed is not bad, there is no mold or mildew, and the trichome production was pretty good for this little plant. Although, I don't expect to pull more than an oz off of her. In fact, I'll be lucky to hit 24 grams dry, but the stuff will be decent.

I just put two more beans into germination and will probably plant those tomorrow. I have a Blue Mystic AF and another Northern Lights AF that I'm going to watch for awhile.

Hop digity

What soil are you going to use? Do not screw again!

What light will you use?

Soil is my own brew with perlite and some bat guano for good measure. I've been using this medium for many years...not just for weed plants either. It does quite well for the first 4 weeks or so; especially for seedlings. I know what I did wrong with the watering so this time will be much better. I'm going to start them off with a 125w CFL and the 240w LED. When they get big enough to flower then I'll add in the 600W BS LED.
