Hi all—

Complete noob here – this post starts my grow journal

Ministry of Cannabis White Widow

Growing Experience: ABSOLUTELY NONE!

Grow space: Converted wine cabinet. Description here: https://www.autoflower.org/f5/conv-wine-cabinet-different-approach-31922.html

Soil: 40% FF Ocean Forest,40% FF Happy Frog, 20% Perlite

Pots: Two 3 gallon

Soil Prep: Soaked and put in cabinet for 48 hours

Seed Prep: Seed casings roughed up in Altoids tin with 120 grit sandpaper. Gentle shaking for 30 seconds.

Seeds floated in spring water w/o light. Both seeds sank in 24 hours

Planting: Top two inches of soil was stirred up with finger, directly planted seeds in soil ¼” deep, pointy end of seed down.

Germination: One seed broke soil in 72 hours, the other in 96 hours (Not expected this soon, who knows why)

Watering: After sprouting, spray bottle water only 3-4X daily. First full water on Day 6. Continue to bottle spray as needed, typically twice a day

Lighting: Initially, two CFL 23 watts over each plant (5000K) at 5 inches

Temperature: 78F

Lighting: After first “real” leaf set appeared, additional 23 w added over each. These were 6000k.

Next day, lights were lowered to 4”.

Two days later, added another 23W 6000k above each plant, total 92 watts per plant, 184 watt total.

Next day, lights lowered to 3”

Today, Day 8 and 9 , lights lowered to 2 1/2” above plants. From this point forward, this is Day 9 for both.

Temp. range thru Day 8: 75-81 degrees F

Humidity Range: 25%-40 (Too low, but not terribly concerned at present.) Trying to raise a bit with soaked dishtowels at cabinet base.

Planned: LST (Will need LOTS of help)

FF Trio (diluted) no sooner than Day 21, I am aware that FF OF is a hot soil

Switch to 2700 at preflower. Swap 4 23W for 46W. Total 276 watts in cabinet .

Approach: (This is bound to change)

1. Patience, Patience, Patience!

2. Listen to the plants

3. First do no harm

4. Corrective actions: Less is better except in critical situations

5. Don’t obsess!

6. It isn’t a contest – the yield will be what it will be

7. Learn and enjoy the ride

Folks, I am a first time grower. I know extremely little about growing and will need a great deal of assistance.

I appreciate the warm welcome I’ve recently received and wish to thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards-

T.

Hello and welcome. It appears you have done your homework and have the proper attitude. This is the most fun I have ever had and the more people who find out the better for all of us. I am in the last half of a MoC royalmatic grow and I use FF trio. I can't help with the lst but I looks like you won't need much help you have started well. My plants are between 28in-18in, happens a lot with autos you get used to it. By the color of your plants I am guessing you have a ph meter and are areating your water. I use pro-mix ultimate so be careful using my amounts, your soil is hotter, imo. Good luck and good karma.

Hi gent-

Don't have a PH meter yet, any recommendations??

I'm not aerating my water, should I?? I can probably rig something up...

Thanks for the support-

Thomas

A ph meter is the best investment you can make. Paper is easy to use and will help but a meter like a hanna checker ($35) works well if you keep it clean. I use both just in case I screw up. Go to a pet store and get a cheap 5gallon fish tank air pump ($10) some air line and two air stones with a "tee" fitting. Try to avoid tap water, I use bottled water from a local source and the ph stays the same with no chemcials. Fox Farm grow big will drop your ph like a rock but tiger bloom and big bloom aren't so bad. Water deeply, a little run-off is good, the tap root needs to go deep for the plant to grow tall. If you watch those small first leaves they should look like they are hurting a bit as a sign the plant wants food (about day 12-15) with pro-mix, it might be a few days more for your soil mix. You will need to circulate as well as extract the air in your grow space, a small personal fan should do. It should shake the plants, not knock them down, ha ha. This will make the stems stronger. I have been doing this for two years and I still want something every grow like a new light or bigger tent or different nutes. I complain about FF trio all grow than after harvest I go buy more. If you can get some sledgehammer, it will help between veg and bloom when you flush. See what I mean? I will try and check in more but just ask if you need help, these are good people.

What do you think???

Here are the girls at Day 14/15. They look healthy.

But what do you think? Feedback would be REAL nice and appreciated.

Also, when should I begin to think about LST (real, real nervous about this.)

Thanks in advance--

T.

Welcome m8t , they look good, as begginer I LST'd my last grow and nearly come a cropper a couple of times. My latest grow I've gone to scrogging. To help with this and it will help you with LST'ing is Plant Magic Bio Silica , it keeps them Stems more flexable.
Good look with your Grw.

:smoke: elps with ma aches and pains ,,

Pistils- So early??? Need Advice!

I was surprised to see pistils on one of the plants (Day 16) this AM. Isn't this a bit early? (I was expecting around Day 21.) The picture doesn't show them (I don't think) ...I don't have a close up lens yet.

I have a bunch of questions..

1. I know nothing about WW strain, and nobody appears to have grown Ministry of Cannabis WW. But it seems to me that my plants are very compact with very short distance between leafs, much more compact and denser than other WW I've seen in grow journals. (I don't know if this is because of MofC genetics or my grow cabinet which is different than most (see link in my original post in this thread). Do my plants look typical for WW?

2. I was not going to fertilize until Day 21 (FF Happy Frog and Ocean Forest soil). Should the appearance of pistils at this time change this plan?? Nutes are FF, I am going to dilute.)

3. Most of the LST tutorials I've watched have taller, less compact plants. Does anything change if your plants are very compact?? Do I wait or what? Or just let them grow naturally?? What would you do and when??

Thanks for reading and in advance for your assistance (please remember this is my first grow) And thanks to the lone responder to my last post.

T.

I am having issues seeing the image in full size, but I would say those plants will probably not benefit by lst. Unless they undergo some major stretch you will most like have plants with a main fat cola and a few satellites. My experience with those types of autos is that they do not benefit from lst, especially plants that go into flower fast. They are looking good.

Thanks G, is a primary single cola typical for WW?

Any other opinions, please.
T

I haven't grown WW but have experience with MoC anglematic and royalmatic, your plants look good. Raise your light a few inches and see if the plant will get more space between leaf sets, right now you don't need to lst. Go ahead and feed at day 21, the leaf color seems to say they aren't hungry yet. MoC plants seem to be able to take the nutes well and stay about 22-26 in for the most part, indoors.
