Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks to everyone before me who has come and posted and contributed to this site--I have enjoyed reading and learning about autos here for several years, and found myself entertained when I was overseas and weed was hard to come by.

I live in Oregon now, and given the legal climate, I did want to have a small garden this year. I chose not to start outside because we have neighbors who stop by here and there, and although I'm not worried about being judged by them per se, I just prefer to keep the garden to myself. I'd like to have a small garden going in the winter months anyways, so I figured I may as well get the eqiupment now.

I've started a new grow in the indoor section with LEDs and some of Stitch's gear. I've previously grown photos a few times in the past with decent success but I've really gravitated to the convenience, quickness and variety of auto plants for a personal garden.

I would love to see a Strawberry Cough auto strain as that is one of my top 5 fave strains. I like stimulating/energetic sativa highs that aren't too racy, anti-anxiety mellow highs, or 50/50 sativa-indica hybrids in general. There's tons of good kush of every type in Oregon, and I like them too but I'm more interested in growing other types of strains that are less common. In general, I don't smoke every day, but I do smoke on a regular basis and it is very helpful for the health condition I deal with. I'm looking forward to having some of my own bud to smoke

I've got many good memories of childhood summers in eastern Oregon with extended family there. We're legal now here in Alaska as well. I've got a small plant in the flower garden, hidden well. It's a Dutchbreed Lowberry, so it stays very small, and stays hidden well. We're not legal to grow out in the open. are you? In the home is perfectly legal, as long as it can't be seen from outside the property. In the yard would be a no-no. I've got some in the house growing well, too

Thanks, guys. We can't grow in the open, but you can grow outside if it's not visible to the public eye. We've got a fenced backyard, but neighbors and their small children stop by sometimes. Then--there's always the smell factor too. We're in a fairly conservative community here, so I prefer on the down low.

Alaska is an amazing place. I spent a summer working in Kenai at a salmon cannery in 1990. People sometimes debate whether the old stuff back then would compete with today's strains. I can tell you, there was some Valley pot that came around...the buds were exactly the size and dimensions of a finger, and they were just absolutely covered white with resin. It was almost impossible to tear a piece off for a bowl--you had to use a knife. I've never, ever, had that problem before or since! Even some guys from Berkeley were coming back from work like 3 hours later because they were so greened out. Those were the days! lol

I love the taste more than anything, Medi, and a lot of the old strains let you enjoy that without melting into the couch! Gimme an old school, red haired skunk any day. :smoking: Grown for meds, well, it's so nice to have all the options, but for "recreation", nothing (IMHO) beats a sativa with lower THC and amazing flavor.

Yeah, Redneck, it doesn't have to be killer strong to be enjoyable, for sure. I'm looking forward to trying the Copacabana for the same reasons--I haven't seen any smoke reviews for it, but sounds like a good daytimer. I'd really like to try some of those other supers in the Flash line-up like Panama Lime.

I do miss those old skunks. Almost any strain I've tried with some skunk in it works well for me.

I really liked the Strawberry Cough when I grew it. It produced really well, too, and always put me in a good mood. I made some low strength butter with some of her buds and a small dose of that early in the day always went a long ways. Hard to have a bad day with that!

I also grew a G-13 Purple Lady, which I think has been discontinued. It was an offshoot of their purple haze line. It was very motivating and gave focus. I like functional highs.

Welcome to the forum from another Oregonian! There's been quite a few new Oregonian members since the new law (thankfully) went into place. Even though it's legal now, a lot of us, like you, have decided to keep it on the down low. But finally, legal grows! Whoda thunk?
