Kindbud meets the HLG 600r spec!

Upon further inspection of the ratchet hangers I noticed the inner workings are metal! Wow, never seen metal gears and levers in my other hangers! Nice quality but still smoother action than the others I have!

back to the light for a moment. The unit comes installed with a manual driver. Nice knob and smooth action. 10 “clicks” in its range… off to full throttle. I assume it is 10%increase per position. I did notice while inspecting that the dimmer box was affixed with double sided adhesive film that no longer has “sticky” to it. This will not affect the operation in the least and cannot move much further from the position it’s in due to the excellent wiring job done by the assembly team.

on to installation!

the wire hangers are a touch long for my installation and growing style so… I removed the carabiner clips from the wire hangers and installed them directly in the hanger holes in the panel. Noticing that the board was finished after mounting holes were drilled, very nice!

Also the iPhone doesn’t show the true brightness of the unit. It is blinding. Definite upgrade from the 3 smaller units it replaced. Installation also tidied up my wiring going to the power strip… bonus!

Cleaned the tent today in prep for transplants. Vacuumed, and wiped down with anti-microbial wipes used for cleaning tattoo surfaces. Should do the trick… then noticed it left a haze on the walls and floor so used a glass cleaner for haze removal. I also hung a small clip fan near back corner of the 600r as per Hlg hanging instructions in their manual. This is to provide cooling to the driver directly, lengthening driver life and reliability. It is plugged into the timer that feeds the light so when light is off the fan goes off as well. Also finally got to inspect the dark spots on the liner of the tent floor. Seems if you go cheap you should expect some flaws. It’s a 4x4x 80” YINTATECH. Seems when I had a bout of high rh the plastic covering on the liner separated from the matte creating the dark spots. No mold but rubbed it down anyways. Still getting my floor plan together as I have 4 auto seedlings ready and three germinating. May have to run one of my tests in the photo tent.

New sticker installed over the old sticker. Man that 600r looks good in there. Think I will install the fan from the ceiling! @Les @HLG wont be long before she’ll be over plants. On a different note… tried to check ppfd with my photone app…even after calibration the app didn’t read right. We will trust your factory measurements (stupid app)!

Soooo sorry I haven’t posted here in a bit, been kinda busy and I know I’ve posted content but oh well. I’ll catch y’all up here and now! So last real post here showed some seedlings that were going under the 600r provided to me for testing. Current setting is on 2 and google says 235w. Light is at the top of the tent and I will increase light intensity as necessary.

First pic are the autocreepers that were going in but girl on right didn’t make it. Pic 2 are two Beavergenetics MobStar’s Dream that are in the 5 gal SIP buckets. In the third and fourth pics you will notice another on the upper left, that is the Sssc Autocreeper that made it. The larger plant in front is only visiting for now as she has her own home but I haven’t put her big pot in yet. She is a HSO Passionfruit punch fem photo that I plan to clone for reversal.

Here are the girls today in the 4x4 under the 600rspec! I have adjusted dimmer to 3rd click from off. All are loving the light! The veg growth of these autos beats the panel conglomerate that it replaced. Far better light! Space above light is warm near the power module but not hot. The Autocreeper in upper left is cruising along and hitting preflower now. Small defol on her.

Here is the tent today under the @HLG 600rspec at 550 watts. Thinking today I bump it up to 595. All are doing good. A little liming but not bad, they are in flower… 3.5 gpg mc with a concoction of GLB amendments added including enhance mc, micro ds, bud accelerator, and brix 57. Some trimming done on all, wedges added to Autocreeper to spread top (s) this light is kicking it! Should be dense flowers by the end of flower.

temps at 72-75f and humidity at 55% but varies a little. Puts out about the same amount of heat as the three lights it replaced. Maybe a little less due to two less drivers. The extractor is on and off at regular intervals but it’s gonna get colder eventually… think in NNY we are the warmest in the east. Not record temps but normally there is snow some days and today it’s gonna hit 70. Peace for now!

600 rspec is at 595 watts at the top of tent. MobStar’s Dream girls are at day 68 and Autocreeper is at day 83, she will be harvested tomorrow as trichs are all cloudy. Temps at 72-75 and rh is whatever od is at. Water uptake is starting to slow down. MDG’s will wait a while longer and may go over the 75-85 days mark.

the dream girls prob have 1-2 +- weeks left.

Final weight for the Super sativa seed club Autocreeper comes in at 111g or just under 4 oz! Very happy with the yield and outcome. Aromas are exotic flowers and fruits, grape Ne-hi soda and I’m getting hints of rootbeer barrel candy! Can’t wait for an early tester in two weeks!

MobStar’s Dream girls are nearing the finish line. Some clear, a lot cloudy, no amber. Day 75 for them. This day starts breeder harvest window of 75-85 days. Nugs are dense, and colors have receded nicely. I’ll be checking trichs every day til she comes down. Feed is the same, temps and rh are relatively the same. HLG 600r has done a great job with the plants.
