Grow Mediums Kosher Doing Coco! v3

Even if you did overwater her, IMO that wouldn't turn her yellow. REALLY overwatered plants in obvious stages of cringing wilt are generally still deep green. You've got a plant that looks like she's got a nitrogen deficiency. You're in coco, so that means you should be giving very mild nutes right from the start. If you've done that, then the plant isn't able to take those nutes up. If you've checked the ph of your coco and you've phd your water to 5.8, theoretically your plant should be capable of absorbing nutrients.

But she isn't. I had the same thing. Today, that stunted plant that went all yellow on me at day 7 or 8 is in bud, and the plant is putting out teensy buds but they have absolutely no hairs. I still can't figure it out.

im bringing up better pics hold on i will edit in a few minutes,

Hey Kosher! Rocking the coco again! :D

All good advice in here - I'm an EC measurer and just checked on the PPM calculator. Your total PPMs were just a touch low at 0.77 - i've read that a minimum feed is 0.8 but usually shoot for 1.0 when starting out.

If i'd hedge another guess - i'd think the plant were too young to show any defs - as for the first week at least they'll feed from the coteloyodeons (ha - close i think), so with that in mind, turning yellow may be more of a PH problem. 5.8 is the way to go as Nuggz said.

I had some slow slow fseedlings, but they were too cold.

Just brainstorming - hope some of it helps ^_^

First of all many thanks guys,
I hear you about it might be a def but its not possible to be even tho past feeds were at 0.8 all of the plants got a darky green looking all healthy, and the problem just went on 3 seedlings plant. so its hard to think its a fed because lack of EC. Second option is i got a possible ph problem with them. but again how is that possible if all 36 plants get the same feedings as they all at the same age. plus minus a day-two? if i did some mistake with ph wouldnt it effect all of my plants?

my best thought is still that i might have overwatered these 3 plants early on day4-5 possibly and this caused some problem(ph problem maybe?) that lead to roots not absorbing N and that caused the yellowing right? in a second thought N should start from the bottom leafs upwards showing yellow isnt it? here were getting yellow on new growth.

Another reason i think its over water is new growth is curled downwards here are the pics, please have a look and see tell me what you think as for now i gave them one day without any feeding just to make sure, and its lights up again soon so im about to make a new batch of feeding i will do a normal feeding for most of the plants and what should i do with these ones? should i try give them just phd 5.8 water and get a good runoff?

Overwatering! IMO

You'll never need run off with a plant that size in coco. I think ronin or roark has a watering guide for coco that works really well, but personally i will not water to run off until the plant can drink a pot full in about 2 days. (which is around day 30-40)

Also - could the floor beneath the pots be a bit cold? I have much less that you when i grow, and use a tube heater by the pots - it keeps the coco (and roots) warm and think (but could be a wild guess) that it makes them drink up a bit.

Early feeding guide for me is - Once the head pops - about 250ml water straight down around the stalk.
3-4 days later another 300ml odd in the same place.
2-4 days later 500ml in a circle around the area that wasnt watered.

from then on, i wait and could be watering every 3-4 days until the pot starts getting light on a 2 days basis - then i'll just throw 2.5 litres at each pot every 2 days. Watering to run off when they can drink it will push the slat through and clean the medium - but some would say it's not necessary at all when fed properly, and i would say do it, but don't leave the pot in the water - put them on little feet so you can use the run off to raise humidity if need be (if not, remove with a pump or turkey baster)

:vibe: again, just brainstorming and offering what i do (as the laziest coco grower at AFN)

... I've stopped using a watering can ... it's too much effort

should i stop watering them untill new growth stop curling and wilting?

I would let them dry out a bit. And when you give them water again, I'd water with a turkey baster because it allows you to deliver a small amount of water in a much more controlled way. Also, I highly recommend that you get yourself a water meter. They're inexpensive, you can find them at your local garden center and they can be a life saver. My water meter has stopped my tendency to over water and I wouldn't want to do a grow without one.

When you do water again, your goal should be to deliver a small amount of water to the top few inches of coco while you let the lower levels of coco continue to dry out. You'll find that a water meter lets you know just how wet it is in the center of your pot. It's a good thing to know.

Thanks man
i stopped overall feeding to all of my plants its already a full 24 hours without watering, should i held for another day and see whats up ? ( i been watering approx 100-150mls since day 1to -3 approx 300mls since day 4 everyday till day 9 )

I'd let them dry out a bit. What are your temps currently like?

If they're low 70s i'd probably give it another couple of days. Mid 80s check tommorow, but if the pots are heavy they wont need much for a while.

I will keep them 28C added another 6inch fan, humidity around 50%
