did you get any calibration fluid to calibrate it? even the high $ ones need to be calibrated to keep them in check. I have cal fluid for 7 and 4.1. so many problems come down to out a wack ph

No, just the meter with the probe, nothing else.. it has a button to switch from a pH reading to moisture, but whenever I press it nothing happens.. I feel ripped off..
Anyway it really seems that I'm having a very low pH issue. I'm going to post about it in a few minutes..
So, I fed both the ladies a couple of hours ago and tested the runoff with a simple pH color test.
The shortest one gave me the following reading:
I would say it stands around 5.5 and 6.0.. which is bad, but the situation with the bigger one is worse:
It's awfully orange, and it makes sense, as the shortest one is smelling better than this one.
So the question now is: ia there a way to raise the pH level? It would be hard for me to find those pH up and pH down where I leave, so homemade recipes would be the best option.
Thanks for the support people, I really appreciate it.
dolomite lime can be had at a garden or hardware store. I have some crushed oyster shell from keeping tropical fish that I powder and use when I get low ph. some pet stores carry that
You could try cleaning the tip with very fine sandpaper like 220 or steel wool. oil or build up pn the tip can cause that. I left mine in the pot for about 24 hours And it was stuck also. I cleaned it with the sandpaper and then wiped it off with rubbing alcohol. Fixed it right up.
ALso any oil from your fingers can mess it up also
