Lighting LED Driver Dimmer info assistance request

Starting to piece together my DIY COB light, and wanted to reach out to make sure I get the right pieces parts. I've picked up the LSD Power driver model LCN200W140T. According to the downloadable datasheet on their site, it almost reads like the LCN model should not be dimmable. But the power supply itself looks like it is. So I'm hoping that someone may be familiar with this manufacture to know which it is. The driver is wired for it, and the label reads like it is, so that kind of conflicts with what I believe the datasheet is saying.

Also, since there is no real manual or instructions for this sort of thing (at least that I can find), I need to verify that I'm looking at the right thing for a dimmer. So any info on what others have used, seen used, etc... would be much appreciated.

Ok...starting to get my brain wrapped around the 0-10v dimming stuff a little. Couple quick questions:

I read somewhere the if I just don't hook the dim leads up (leave them open) it'll run at 100%. Is this typically true for drivers? If so, could I just take something like a simple on/off switch tied in with a 50K Ohm, .5 watt resistor across the leads for a "half power veg mode" type setup?

a 12 volt toggle switch is what I used along with the dimmer/potentiometer.

also I was just reading on another forum that something is up with these drivers dimming side.
PLC and LSD are working to correct the issue and replace any effected driver.
I just came home and had 2 packages with my pin sinks and drivers waiting for me. my drivers are same as yours.

I emailed PLC and asked them and they confirmed what you are hearing. The discrepancy between the datasheet and the labeling on the driver is because the manufacturer upgraded to included dimming in the driver recently. They have identified an issue with the chip programming on them, though, so the dimming does not work correctly. The manufacturer is supposedly replacing the affected drivers to fix the dimming issue and PLC is expecting them around the end of the month.

so I guess I will just run mine wide open with the dimming wires capped/taped off and see how that works.
but will have to get all the rest of the light together first.

That's the way I'm going. Just taping off the ends and going with it. I didn't expect it to have dimming, so not really any loss in my mind to not have it work. Might revisit the resistor on a switch idea when (if?) the one with the dimming fixed shows up toward the end of the month. Potentiometer would be simple enough as well, but I think a simple "lo/high" type switch for veg/bloom would be fine for my purpose.

Switch dimming is as simple as a spst or spdt switch. I picked up some SPDT switches on eBay for $1 each. Combine that with a handful of resistors from the audio guy at the local flea market. Having an "off" to leave it open gives you the full 105% or whatever the driver may have. And resistive dimming is as simple as 10k = 10%, 100k = 100%.


Toss the positive dim on the shared pole, with a 75k and a 47k resistor for the 2 negatives. Gives it 75%, 100%+, and 47%, I like 100% in the center for mine, but because 100% will be 100w per 3590, so added safety of me not leaving it on full blast lol. But DPDT would let you wire up 3 different options, and have them in the order you like.
