Hello my fellow growers!

I would like some help from tech heads about the angles of LED lights and diffusers. I dont fully understand the angles of LED. So, if someone can link me or direct me to the right direction it would be much appreciated ;)

I've used 4 types of light delivery system since I started growing,my first lights were GNs HP series, they had 5w chips but just the standard 120 degree lens over the LED it's self and a Glass plate. These were Second Gen lights and were great from veg but because of the wide beam angle not brilliant in bloom. Similar to this style grow light.

I then got MS0004 with a similar lens over the chip but with a secondary optic to tighten the beam up,my first had a 60° but my later lights had 90° which was better all round. They do create hot spots of light directly underneath and don't mix the spectrum perfectly but I had success with them.

The third type I've used were the Ledil reflectors on the Rebel Upgrades, these spread and blend the light a little better than the previous but not perfectly.

The forth and buy far the most advanced (I think on the market) is the three stage delivery system on the HS1s...you have the lens over the chips, the secondary Ledil lens and then the Holographic diffuser. What I'm getting from these lights is a perfect blend of light so every leaf gets the same specrtum unlike the three above and very even coverage with no hot spots....looks cool too lol.

the main problem for me is for example the GN HS1-s. There are 3 different type of diffusers:

1) 80x80
2) 60x90
3) 60x60

I would really like to see the footprint those diffusers produce, so the light can be mounted as efficiently as possible.

Planning to order Mars Hydro 1200W, but i am hesitating since there are mixed reviews about those. So i hope to reach a conclusion by monday, then i will order Mars Hydro 1200W or another 2xHS1. I really like how the HS1-s keep the internodal distance much tighter than the MH/HPS. But i think there should be 4 lights (HS1) in a 1,2x1,2 area (or 4x4 in US). But almost 2 000€ per one growbox is a little insane.

I'm using 2 HS1s in my 1.2m and getting great results, I think 3 with the 60x90 would be the max you would want in are size room but I'm getting on great with the 80x80.

How would you mount the 3 lights, in what position? :)

2 parallel 1 horizontal bro.

Where would the diffusers be? (since the diffusers are not in the middle). I have studied your grows and i have noticed you change the the position of the light (sometimes the diffusers are on the inside (towards the middle of the tent) sometimes to the outside (diffusers are more to the side of the tent).

Hey, I was wondering, an 80x80 diffuser sounds great for the earlier part of growth, but when the plant reaches its full height and the lights go parallel, wouldn't a 60x90 do a much better job covering the plant's sidewise elongated profile?
