I apologize because I realize that this must have been discussed here numerous times already.

What are the opinions on running an LED grow light for 24 hours per day?
Do they burn out? Overheat?

thank you for your time and answers

My Mars hydro 96s ran 24 7 for over two months . And if your thinking of buying lights be smart and read up on cob lights . Way better. Build your own light. cheaper or buy a cob but they aren't cheap.

I have run a Lighthouse Hydro 240w for over three years and a Mars Hydro 300w for over 2 years and the only time they were turned off was if I had a power outage. They still run today except..................
I have since moved to the white light AutoCob that also runs 24/7.

With less intense light I would run it longer hours. This includes most led panels you see here and online. Google dli or daily light integral. Low wattage leds and there par wattage may require longer day light hours to fulfill the plants needs. When the plants are lit with higher intensity cobs with a higher par wattage you can then run the plants for shorter hours. It's almost like a balancing act trying to figure what's to much and what's not enough. Personally I give my plants a 5 hour break daily but also use citizen cobs.

Thank you sir. I will continue to research this. I am currently viewing your DYI threads.
FYI, where I live, the power company really monitors spikes in your electricity usage. That is why I'd like to run the lights at 24 hours.
I could potentially have a mother, clones, and autos all in the same room.

Then I would definitely switch to cobs. 20% of your wattage is useable light with most LED brands. With cobs you are closer to 50%. This why there is so much traffic in the DIY and cob sections. Check out the grows in here. Low wattage and high yields. https://www.autoflower.org/forums/cobshop-net.425/

If you have any questions on DIY let me know. I have built a few lights in the past and feel confident in giving advice.
