Mephisto Genetics Legends Mephisto Lair

It's alright just part of life I'm just glad I have some backup plants going lol. I might even try to grow one or two of the seeds after just to see what happens. Might as well top one these seem to take longer starting off but they blow up in the end anyway it doesn't really seem to effect the overall yeild they just start a little slower. I never topped one though so that might be a little different then them doing it on there own. You'll never know untill you try though :smoking:

So I tried sour stomper twice now both times it germinated and then stalled but it's my own fault I dug them up before they were ready. I didn't want to waste all of my stomper seeds and couldn't decide what to grow. So I put about 8 strain names in a tupperware shook them up and picked. I picked one then put it back and shook them again just to try one more time and got the same one twice so I guess it's fate!

Supernatural OG looking ruff! I'm just hoping she makes it another 3 weeks lol. Idk if it's my watering method or what but I seem to get more deficiencies when I use air pots. My other plants are fine and then the two I had in airpots had this issue. Im sure the fungus gnats don't help but I'm thinking maybee I water to fast and all of the water leaks out of the side and doesn't make it were it needs to be. Needless to say airpots work for a lot of people but not me. After this I'm done using them. I'll switch to fabric pots/ grow bags/ and good old fashioned plastic pots. Anyway here's the supernatural

Also I now have three plants showing purple coloration that will get pollinated by sour crack. I only took two pictures of two different plants I'll get the other up sometime soon.

FYI - Fungus gnats evidently detest the smell of cedar and I've read several accounts of people keeping fungus gnats at bay by using a hanging closet air-freshener called "Cedar Magic". You can find them for sale on Ebay and Amazon. Also, you could coat a few chenille strips with Cedar Essential Oil, hang them from your plants and it would probably have the same effect. But personally, I think with all the holes that airpots have, it would be nearly impossible to keep the damn gnats out. All those air holes give them unlimited access to the roots.

Seems to me that the safest way to go in order to avoid fungus gnats is a fabric smart pot topped off with a 1/2 inch layer of sand.

Thanks for the info! I've been trying everything. I used mosquito dunks, pyrethrum spray, my favorite thing the vaccume, and this nifty little mix called gnat nix it's pretty much like the sand idea but it's recycled glass and has more of a consistency like perlite. I think you hit it dead on with the airpot thing. I know they aren't getting through that top mix because I have it layered about an inch deep. But nothing is stopping them from flying in and out of those holes and I think that's where they lay there eggs. They're winning the war though I'm getting tired of killing 100 a day just to wake up with 100 more the next day lol. I'll definatley give the cedar oil a try though it can't hurt. Worse comes to worse I'll be able to get rid of them once the supernatural is gone as she is the last plant in an air pot.

There's a product you can get here called 'gnat off' - sometimes we get them from keeping our soil to recycle outdoors.

You just dilute it, then water with it, a couple of times always does the trick

Cheers!

Double headed grape crinkle day 17 I know she's going to be a smaller plant due to the double head scenario but it'll be okay :)

I've been trying to find that mix forever I can't even begin to say how excited I am to give it a go! I also got some free Walter white x sour stomper seeds:drool:
Sadly my tent is slapppp full of plants right now. As soon as the supernatural OG comes down I'm planting something. I promised no summer growing but I lied!
Time to mix some super soil!

Another sour stomper seedling dead :nono:
That's 3 in two weeks. This time it poked it's head up last night and this morning it was all shriveled up. I could literally see fungus gnat larvae on my tap root! I'm ordering beneficial nematodes today and not starting any more plants untill these things are dead and gone.
