Is there a reason why people pay a premium for ph up and down stuff? Maybe accuracy?
I am growing in soil, I imagine hydroponics needs accuracy which maybe answers my question

First add nutes. Then check your pH (in soil 6.2 - 6.8). If necessary then add vinegar to drop pH.
Cycle your pH. One watering lets say you use pH 6.3, other watering you use pH 6.8, third watering pH 6.5.

I have not found a bottled water that is under ph7.0
Just use your tap water that has been sitting in a bucket over night. The adjust your ph down with vinegar.
I just watched my plants start booming within a few days of doing this.
