New Grower Let's Talk CO2 (Tank Fed)

Trap, CO2 is most effective in veg and early flowering. Once you get into full bloom you need to start cutting the level back or you can end up with fluffy buds. It's also only effective during lights on. I run it in my hydro room and start out at 1,500 ppm and am down to about 500 by around week 5-6 of flowering, which is only slightly above atmospheric levels. If I were using it on autos, I'd cut it off after the 2nd or 3rd week of bloom.

Wow Muddy,

Thanks, that's good data and somewhat contrary to what I was thinking. From observation (and limited experience) I would have guessed that it was MORE important at the end because it appeared to be the case that it bolstered trich production. That's good to know. Thanks!

I wish I had a meter to establish what kind of PPM we were talking about with these biomass based generators. The reviews are all over the place. I doubt that it will ever get even close to providing a saturation level of 1500ppm, but I do wonder what it actually CAN provide.

Hey trap what year land cruiser do ya have? i was a Toyota tech for 6 years. companies put sulfur in N02 not c02 I know this because I ran n02 in a race car. post a pic of the cruiser I want to see her..:Sharing One:

I've had:

1976 FJ55
1983 FJ60
1994 FZJ80
1987 FJ60

Currently driving the '87

Posting a pic would identify exactly who I am, I'm very active in the Land Cruiser community...I need to maintain some discretion for "other than legal" purposes....sorry :)

LOVE the revised avatar BTW. :)

O its ok don't do that! I love all those years . I like the straight 6 over the newer v8 . there just indestructible!

the fzj80 is my favorite..

Mine too...the 1fz-fe is a fantastic motor. Not great on gas, but pulls way better than the venerable 2F...a more complicated modern engine though.
And the A442F tranny is bombproof.

Solid axles, coil springs...handles everything at Moab with ease. (Except the Rock Buggy specific stuff like Pritchett's) Just wheels like a Mountain Goat...so much articulation.
Walked right over the Crack on Golden Spike. :)

I just wish the 80 Series had the worldy/safari looks of the 60.

Hey Trap. I'm currently in the process of setting up a co2 system for my fish tank. I'm using a soda stream co2 cylinder. Yes, you still have the inherent dangers of using a pressurised cylinder but they are massively reduced due to their size.

Cool solution!

Anytime Trap. Yes, unfortunately those meters are expensive. I'm running an Atlas 3 controller on my burner, which is one of the cheaper ones, and it was $300. Most meter's I've seen are about the same price.

If you just want a CO2 monitor with few bells and whistles, I'm using an Autopilot Desktop CO2 monitor ($113 with Amazon Prime) and it works swimmingly. In my current grow space I average around 515 ppm CO2 and when I've been working in the room for awhile it easily rises up to 1400-1500 levels depending on my proximity (and drops when I leave.)

I've thought about rigging up several beer fermenting vessels in the room and seeing how much of a difference (if any at all) it would make in the CO2 levels but have yet to tackle that project.
