Under cfl I have before kept my light on 24/7 for the first two weeks. I'm tempted now though to go to 20/4 just as I've seen posts with people saying how the girls will grow more with rest. What do you all do? Only leave it on 25 as I thought cfls aren't as powerful

I think a rest is important. Although I have ran 24/0 I would only do it for the first couple weeks then 20/4. :D
I usually just run 20/4 all the time.

Hi All

I also agree with 20/4. Might as well save energy where you can.

I mean if it is ONLY a matter of convenience over inconvenience I would save the energy

Eek

Yup, i agree with all, 20/4 is what i normally run at, i have been reading that if you fool even autos into thinking that winter is coming fast (cutting the light gradually down to 12/12 over the weeks) they can improve yields etc.. but this is to be tested i suppose, so many possibilities, so less time. :lab:

So i came across a study that for veg best is 20/4 or 24/0 but this dont hold true for flower as it seems to hurt yeild.

Yeah dude, thats interesting...What else did the study say? is this for autos? or photos? what were its recommendations for flowering time?

thats wht i just run 18/6 all the time cause i always have plants in veg and flower at the same time. 006.jpg

yep autos 16/8 flower on youtube thegrow pro this is like the holy hand grenade of info. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZUywIZCwG4

Now thats cool, so the 16/8 is the best for most strains? that has definately gotta to be tested but these dudes had a mixture of high powered lights and with that kind of power im not surprised.
Might aswell just chuck in a Plasma for good measure, oh and that might happen by the way folks,
A good bro has just bought one plus two 1000 HPS, gonna sneak some autos in there, he he he, watch this space.
