Hi guys thanks for looking gonna be starting a grow soon in a homemade grow box the location will be in my bedroom the problem is gonna be noise from my led keeping my wife awake

Was wondering will switching from led to CFL effect my plant in any way

The plan is to have the led running during the day 6am till 8pm then swap the led for a CFL running from 8pm till 6am

Tried google but cannot find anything

From what I've been told cfl run very hot. So depending what climate your in you could have problems. Also switching between potency of light could confuse plant to either flower early or keep 're vegging. After a week or two your wife won't notice noise.

Thanks for the reply I have the temps under control I kind of knew it wouldn't be healthy for the plant just thought some one might of experimented with this kind of thing

As for the wife getting used to the sound I doubt it is have tried multiple times and she complains and messes with the lights why I'm at work or kills the plant think I will just run the CFL from start to finish

The plant is gonna be a auto wonder if this light change could be used to minipulate the veg cycle giving a longer veg cycle for training autos

if you run 18/6 thats 6 hours ya dont have to worry about,now how long does she sleep ?

She usual goes to bed the same time as me and is up at 6am with the kids could do with out the moaning from her

It will be possible doing 18/6 I will see how it goes I have converted a section of the attic into a grow room so if things don't work out i could always move the plant up there

Check out the Autocob from www.cobshop.net. I have 6. The don't make noise because there is no fan. The also feature low electrical draw and low heat throw. The Autocob is highly efficient, especially when compared to traditional, mass built led lights. .49 amp draw, that's it. User BigSm0 builds the lights.

There's a company sponsoring the 2 litre grow challenge that makes the same light in the uk. Charges the same as well but lot less shipping and easier warranty.
