I plan on growing some auto flowers for various reasons. #1 is size becasue I have a very bad back and can't do much lifting at all. #2 is the quickness and turnaround needed for my pain meds. I am looking for some lighting information. I have read 18 on 6 off and also 20 on 4 off. I will be using either a CFL or T5 bank for the vegg cyle and an HPS 600 for the flower. What is the recomnended lighting for these types of plants? Thanks for any info. I will be using: Auto Flower Auto Pounder and Diamfem Auto Cheese.

Been doing osme "lurking" on other forums and STILL CAN"T find any info on what type (hps, cfl.led) lights to use for the entire grow for some auto flowers. I have a 600 hps in a 4X$ grow tent, I also have some really nice CFL racks I put together and a 300Watt LED UFO to use as well as osme other smaller LED lights. I understand that 20/4 is the preferrred light cycle. But what about what TYPE of lught to use. Any help here would be greatly appreicated. Thanks.

HPS is fine. MH is fine. LED is fine. I would chose CFL last.

I agree with tav^. Depends on your space and budget! I love helping with grow setups so throw out some est numbers on what you wanna spend! We will do our best!

I have grown out autos with mh and hps from seed! I have grown out autos with led from seed! Led has tighter node spacing and more dense colas if u ask me but hps has tendency for a little more yield!
Depends on your setup!

Personal preferance to be honest if your on a budget go for CFLs and T5s if your not then either HPS or LEDs the LEDs will last alot longer and may be more expensive but you will get your moneys worth and save alot on electricity :smokebuds:

I have used T5 and cfl. I really like both, there are ups and down to all I suppose. I just found T5 to be very easy to work with and with solid results. Cfl are positioned differently and give off a little more heat than T5.

Never used HPS, but I see great results. Highest heat of all the lights, though keep that in mind. Heat is a big problem a lot of the times I see. You'll need a good inline fan with carbon filter either way.

Never used LED(well I used an off model and sent it back) but I see Awesome results and I really really want to move to LED, but I just can't afford it right now. Take care and good luck and let us know if you need anything else.
