In the days of running marathons............ Or some stupid hump........ I would love to have the opportunity to go somewhere like that and carbed up!
When I was still at home, there was no such thing as a decent Italian pasta sauce, there was only Ragu! :face: :nono::hump:
Is that how you spell it:biggrin:

Good old mom did nothing but boiled spaghetti and heat sauce.:face::rofl:

So I announced that I would cook Spaghetti night. I had gone to the Public Library, in my case it was a Carnegie branch, and researched various recipes for spaghetti pasta and copied them by hand on my notebook paper, spiraled bound :cools::eyebrows:

I bought, wif muh lawn mowing muny, the ingredients between three grocery stores in town, Piggly Wiggly, Safeway and Brookshire's.

Spaghetti night was Friday night and there was no school that day..........part of my plan :stir::eyebrows::eyebrows::eyebrows::biggrin:

Most of my ingredients were fresh, I was very lucky with that. Safeway had began to go a little upscale, so to speak.
I started as soon as Mom and Pop left for work! I soon had a big mess! I hadn't been very good at cleaning up as I go! After I did my little cleanup, I made my own meatballs!:yay::yay::eyebrows::eyebrows::headbang:

Well, it was an absolute success! My Pop raved and ate seconds! :headbang::headbang::headbang::headbang::crying:
I found that quite amusing, because Pop had never raved to that extent on something that Mom had prepared.:rofl::pop:

Mom................. I could tell she loved it! :eyebrows::hump: ...............................but we'll just leave it.......rat 'dere!:toke:

:pass::hookah::smokeout::bighug::yay::yay:

I mean I'll still bring you with me to Olive Garden.

And at these prices, I don't even care who splits the check. Unless you start drinking wine (you ****ing sponge.)

You're fuckin' paying for your own wine, @WildBill . That is NOT endless.

All you need is basically room for a cutting board. Just to knead the dough. This cavetelli are literally just semolina flour, salt, and water. Mix in bowl, knead for 10 minutes, rest for 30, make shapes and cook. Super easy
I’ll take a pic of the counters later! Its ridiculous how quickly my mom got the cabinets and pantry overflowing here! More counter space than last place by a long shot but still seems to not be enough! Part of the reason i have yet to make edibles here is lack of space and an over abundance of my mom yelling at me to get out the kitchen cuz she’s always doing something in there!

My first 'marathon' was a March of Dimes.
You would go around and get pledges from people that would donate a pledged amount per mile.
I got a Bunch of pledges! I had lots of $1 pledges.
The school had a pasta party the night before.
I bicycled all over town and and are all and 20 lawns I took care .
I stopped twice to re-tie my shoes. I think they were Keds.

It was really only 23 miles. At least Mom was nice enough to pick me up at the high school.
I was a hurting unit, though. Way too much lactose buildup! And not much fat content.
I vaguely remember soaking in an epsom salt tub.
