I just bought a small inverter stick/tig setup. I need to get out to the garage and mess around. I only have mig with gas experience and even that's limited.

Just practice fusing at first then work on adding filler rod once you get the hang of that

We learned puddle management for tig using a braising tip on an oxy acetylene torch, and just ran puddles across a sheet of copper…eventually adding filler material. The skill translates perfectly, and you learn the basics of braising at the same time.
