I hate to throw a monkey wrench into the works, but there is another DIY option available to you. They're called quantum boards from Horticultural Lighting Group. They're super bright super efficient low wattage LEDs. I'm using one board in my cabinet. I bought a 135 watt kit for roughly $175. It covers my 1.5 feet x 2.5 feet growing area with minimal heat. @pop22 has a killer test going on right now. His tent full on exploded. One of his plants even reached the top of his tent.
