Lighting looking to upgrade to led set up

Now then mate, I'm just about finished on my first grow...total noob. Decided on this light too after good reveiws and such. Now its the only light I've used aside from my 125w cfl that I use for the early day of growth. My grow area is 3x2 with two plants.
I had some problems to start but that was down to me not really knowing much at the time, not the light. plus half the grow had pretty shit ventilation So they're probably a pretty stunted. But the growth and flowers are pretty evenly spread even in the corners of the room & penetration doesn't seem too bad. although I do have a few whispy undeveloped buds down low. But on the whole I'm pretty happy.

oh wow! I was hoping maybe someone who used this light might pop up.yes I'd say it looks to grow 2 plants nicely. we're these auto I'm guessing so? you didn't do any lst or anything I'm assuming either. there look great though these are the thick buds and full colas I'm looking for. which you have plenty of! so did you start the plants with the 125cfl and then put on the 450

yea the leds have appeared to be the thing you really see. I remember when I first got into growing like 8 years ago I would always see hps and mh grows. I know on the description this was designed to replace a 400watt hps light. in reviews I read a lot of people compared it to their 400hps and switched to this for energy saving and less heat. but yea thanks for your post def piece of mind with them pictures of your grow. my grow space is the same as yours 3x2. looks like you should gets a good harvest

Yeah they're NYC diesel auto from advanced seeds. I have done some training and such to try and open it up abit and bent the main stem over slightly. Yeah for the first two weeks or so they were under cfl as that's all I had. The difference I saw overnight was impressive the plants stood up more and looked much happier. The plants I feel could have done better if I had my shit together at the start lol I surely stressed them with my inexperience and diy grow room lol that's all dialed in now so next time round I should expect better I suppose

Yeah that was my concern really.....high heat & power cost then extra cost to get rid of unwanted heat just seemed pointless to me lol

ah ok I thought it looked like a bit of training with the bottom branches. but they look very good man look like should get a nice yield. you using any nutrients or they all natural with just light? I should have my light hopefully Friday tomorrow is week 4 for my gg4 auto she's a small 10inch Bush maybe she hits 12inch but just starting little baby buds so I'm hoping finish with this and get thick colas to salvage the otherwise small grow.

Cheers man. good to hear some good feedback on em. Course they look good to me but to others I must be doing summat right haha. Yeah nute wise I use dutch pro fed weekly and worked up to their recommend minimum with very little burn.

Whilst we're on the lighting subject... you say you use cfl so maybe you could help me out? I have one one diesel I'm growing outside shes doing pretty well just starting early flower. I'm worried though that on wet days or shit nights it might ruin my buds so was thinking of setting a temporary corner up in the shed for her, just to see her through the rough days lol. Would you recommend a daylight cfl and a warm white or do you use dual spectrum? I've never grown to flower with cfl so dont really know.

yea that's not a bad idea on the shit days. but yea I use a mixture of 2700k and 5700k bulbs. I can't really say I've seen a difference of just 2700k for flower then with the 5700k added in. I've always read to use both though just because you have another spectrum added in.

Ahh. Cheers mate. Mines a 6400k daylight that i use at the start. but I have two fixtures so maybe I'll have to buy one of each. Just to keep her alive in the darkest hours really lol

How you doing with that LED decision? Have you pulled the trigger on the VIPARSPECTRA yet?
I took a look at them on the web, not a bad light, decent price. If you were thinking COB a small one would work well for a one plant closet grow. If you were curious take a look in the DIY section there are several different ones. There is even a single pendant all in one from one of our members here. He calls it an AutoCOB. Nice light I have several.
Just a thought I wanted to share.

thanks for info! all is always appreciated. I love learn new stuff when come to growing. anyhow yea I bought the viparspectra I thought for the price of 140 it appeared to be a pretty Good light for the price. as quintain a few post back shared his 2 plant grow with this and looked to have some good results. the cob set up definitely would be looking to down the road.
