We all should have our ear to the shell, when it comes to carbon consumption & cost of carbon used (LCG (Low carbon grow) Footprint)).

When we buy our kit, it's usualy about, "The Buzz Word" of the moment, not how it will affect your LCG Kilowatt totals. As an entrepreneur, the first thing that struck me about the "Hobby" was not the outlay that's there in all sports !......

But the "Constant Gardener" fiscal outlook..........

Here is my example, and as i bought my kit by watts used and not brand, the following LCG g/Kw came out. On a Photo Fem Reg grow 6 lady's. 18/6 veg 12/12 flower.
My Watt's Totals;

600watt Hps dual spec giving 600w emissions
290watt LED 3 no array giving 600w emission

Primary 100mm Thermostatically controlled cab extractor fan
ATc average hi/low 140w

Secondary fan 100mm 28w

Res pump 4 time/day/1 35w

Total watt/hr used. 1093 / 1000 = Kw. = 1.093Kw/Hr used.

Multiply 1.093watts by 12 or 18 hours to get day Kw/Hr. = (Example Veg) below;

1.093 times 18 Hour lights on 19.6Kw/day, times seven day's 1wk =
138 Kw/Week.

Multiply this (138Kw) by the weeks of veg growing say 5 = 690 Kw/5 Weeks for vegetative stage.

In my case; Dutch passion's Superb Outlaw, Fem Reg 6no selected phenos.

Vegetation Growth 5 wks 18/6 690Kw (Inc An extra 2 weeks in Veg Ouch)

Flower/Fruitification 11 wks 12/12 1009Kw (Inc 60% Cloudy Extra Week Ouch)

TOTAL Kilowatts Grow = Kw/grow = 1699Kw used Veg & Flower.

FOR LCG (Low Carbon Grow/Gram) RATIO DIVIDE DRY YIELD BY Kw USED;

In My case, 600g dry yield 6plants divide by 1699kw =

MY GROW LCG = 0.35g/Kw Yield Ratio.

So at 0.10p?Kw/Hr 1g is £0.28p How low can you go !!

Review Your grow kilowatt totals, and get em down !!.......

Thermal exchange helps keep kilowatts down; Heres How I manage, seasonal Temperature variations in my primary and secondary grow room.;

And importantly make 100% sure no 'Strong Canna Odours" can escape the room.

It all based on low wattage kit.......go find some !!, and compare auto's to regulars on 12/12

I aim to get my LCG ratio below or at 13.3p/g/1no.....and my LCG g/Kw Ratio upto 0.75g/Kw.

......AB.........What is your Low carbon Grow ratio g/Kw produced at the moment ??.........

Well, Guys, it's plain to see no one gives a miniature gnat's cock re "Cost" or Carbon recklessly consumed. Fuc it, every body just "Niabingii"...........(Massii mara for sit down and smoke, i just run 40 mile !).......no carbon waste there then !!........AB.........
 
Nothing wrong with improving efficiency ab....way if the future...low carbon...help keep the authorities away also...:smokebuds:
 
I'm willing to post my numbers... Won't be for a while, but I dig the premise. The ratio of grams per watt is paramount for some growers and situations, so naturally its of great interest to log the relevant data and see where the deficiences are.
