Indoor Low Humidity! HELP

Ok so since the winter months have been here, humidity in my basement grow room has dropped. Throughout the day it's between 16-30%. Now my ur question is jus how important is ideal humidity really?? and What issues will low humidity cause? I am fighting spider mite and I know they like dry air so low humidity isnt helping that issue.

What's your guys take in humidity?

The RH in my basement has also dropped considerably due to the winter. It holds steady at right around 20% and my girls are looking great, very green and healthy. Check out my Auto AK grow a couple of threads down.

If your girls look fine don't worry. Low humidity will cause the plants to transpire moisture and this will hurt the plantsThe dry air itself draws moisture from the plants and this is no good.If your girls look stressed some people use thos cheap misters like they use in baby rooms.You can put this on a timer to get your humidity up.

Interesting thread VV, my humidity is similar to yours, i'm yet to pull a grow off so can't offer any advice but will keep an eye on the replies

I had similar problems during my grow. my RH hasnt gotten above 35% and she looks fine, just have to make sure the soil moisture is kept in check because they dry out faster. also could try hanging a wet towel or having a cup of water in front of your fan.

A pan of pearlite in water helps, as does a humidifier.
I use the pearlite myself. Each grain has a huge surface area to let the water evaporate off of. It's works wonders. And it costs like 3 dollars.

So basically like it sounds, you just fill a pan or bowl with perlite and then water as well and let i evaporate?

Yup, the more surface area the better. Like a cookie sheet or even a tray you put the pots into. Just keep it wet.

Having same problems man my rh is at 16 most of the time thus making the leafs look like nute burn..went to amazon and just ordered me a humidifier for 16 bucks shipped one day shipping getting here Tuesday..

hey dude are you using a hps?
you could always place a few glasses of water around your basement and get some evap going.
may help a bit untill you humidifier gets there.
