Lowest fan leafs yellowing then turning brownish and crispy and dying.

I read it's best to use PH up cause the baking soda can leave salts behind in the soil that you need to flush.

The small amount of Baking Soda that is needed to raise the water/feed pH is not really going to add a critical mount of salts to your soil. In a pinch it's an ideal way to keep the water/feed pH level intact. I used less than the amount of pH UP that I would normally use to get the same results. In fact I don't see the need to buy pH UP. A box of Arm & Hammer Backing Soda was under $2.00 and just a "pinch" of it made my feed pH just right.

Not saying that ph UP isn't worth it, but.....

Trying to correct a pH issue takes time. Raising and lowering pH fast can be just as bad as the situation your in now. I cannot give you any advise on flushing out your soil, because I haven't had an issues with pH. I Feed-Water-Water. With a good 25%-30% run off. That seems to keep my soil evenly pH'd. I always try to add my Feed/Watering @ 6.3-6.8. That seems to work for my grows. I use Coco Loco "soil" now and even with Happy Frog I seldom have pH issues.

Also the Nirvana Swiss Cheese that I've been growing is remarkably tolerant.

Im gonna take your word for it then thanks arm and hammer it is tomorrow then lol.

Yeah Baylee is right on, yes baking soda will leave trace amounts of salts behind but so does everything we use to grow. Including PH up and PH Down products, and nutrients and supplements. So while it will leave a small amount of salt build up behind it is not anything to really worry about unless you use a lot of it for an extended period of time. I would go ahead and use it for now and if you can afford it go ahead and get some PH up and PH Down. Although it would not hurt to use Baking Soda and Vinegar, I know several growers who ONLY use Baking Soda and Vinegar due to the organic nature of both. So you really can't go wrong IMO just as long as you get it fixed quickly you should be ok

420ing,

Are you adding your nutrients to the water 1st then correcting pH?

Always add what nutrients and supplements to the water...THEN adjust pH.

Gotta go through your grow journal to see what's what. Been Vaping and just came online to see your "Yellowing" fan leaf post.

Muddy's on it too. No worries, Man.. Muddy knows his ......stuff.......

420's Helping 420's

Just realized 420's helping other 420s.

:Sharing One:

I noticed that too Baylee lol, also you are right on Muddy is the best source of info on AFN in my opinion when it comes to PH/Nutrient related issues. I listen to and write down everything he says, Muddy you are a master my friend!

:grat:"astros Wink wink.."

When I was researching my indoor adventure of Auto Flowers. I came across Muddy's name on some other 420 web site. Said he knew his stuff. Other's said that it was a waste of time to grow Autos. I joined AFN before I really got started and it was Muddy's threads that really put me over the top.

Not to mention every moderator and staff member. AFN growers are the best in the business.

I've grown "photo" here at AFN and currently have a Nirvana Swiss Cheese "photo" grow journal on AFN now. Wouldn't waste my time with any other 420 site.

When I speak with other "growers" and say that I'm an Auto Flower grower. They still cannot grasp it. Too bad for them.....

Yeah it is hard to explain to folks what AutoXtreme is lol, I am just going with the parent strain as far as what I tell people it is. It is easier to just say it's Super Haze lol. But my circle of folks that I know personally that have grown are all starting to come around, mostly due to AFN. I will also never go to another forum, this place is amazeballs period. I will end up growing photos, when I get my green house up and going in the spring, mainly for my breeding projects. But I am an auto convert for life thats a fact

Also. If we need to talk about how good AFN is. We should start a new thread and let this thread do it's trick.
