New Grower Lowryder (vintage) - first grow in 10 years

I suppose the meat one would be cool, if it tells you your joint is ready! I'm seeing some nice results in nft keeping my reservoir below 22c so worth trying it.

Maybe switch your fan over to exhaust and allow passive intake if the heat gets too high. General rule of thumb if you do passive intake/exhaust is to make sure to have twice the size passive as your fan is, i.e. your fan is 12cm so have at least 24cm of open vents and you'll achieve airflow through the tent. You might not feel it through the tent with such a small fan but it'll be happening :)

Just saw your new light, jealous :) You are going to need a bigger fan now though!

Yeah, the new fan was pushing the heat up to 33C, so I have only half of it running (as well as raising it a bit) atm. Also because of this:

Turns out the cousin is a guy! Sadly, I dug him up and germinated another seed.

But happy news! Smallie turns out to be a female and I just gave her a good watering (2L) with 2ml/L Plant Magic Oldtimer Bloom and I'm hoping she goes into her bloom growth spurt now.

Soil is measuring a clear 6 pH (using strips) and the air pots are working as they should! Found an old lens kit for my phone, so pictures will probably be better from now on.

Smallie, D29 (I guess)

Boom goes the Dynamite!!!

Nice new light source! :)

Sorry 'bout the balls......

Since so many things have changed since I started this thread, let me just sum up the gear and plans:

◇ Grow tent 40 x 40 x 120 cm

◇ Viparled D360 (210 actual W)
— LED Quantitites: 120pcs X 3W
— Spectrum: Red( 620-630nm / 650-660nm ), Blue( 430-440nm / 450-460nm ) & White( 3000-4000K / 6000-9000K )

◇ 3 Air pots (1.5 gallons)

◇ 12V 120mm PC fan in (floor vent) 35 CFM

◇ 5V 100mm USB fan out (top vent) 80 CFM

◇ 6W ionizer

◇ 1L yeast/sugar mix in front of intake fan

◇ Organic soil with chicken manure, mixed with non organic soil with 11-5-8 (30/70% mix) with perlite (25%), bottom layer of leca

◇ Plant Magic Granules (mycorrhiza)

◇ Plant Magic Oldtimer Bloom 3-5-4 (organic)

◇ Lighting schedule: 19.5/4.5

◇ Feed schedule: 2ml/L when the soil is dry

Temp is 22-31C and humidity is 37-50% according to min/max readout.

Thanks to the fact that the floor vent with the weak fan is close to the window, I get a pretty normalized temperature even though I am running some hot lamps in a small tent. I am more worried about only using pH strips and not having a soil temp readout than the air intake.

Got one female (Smallie) just entering the flowering stage and two beans waiting between two plates.

Here she is today

Any input on how to improve things are appreciated! :)

Next 100 bucks you have lying around, pick up an Accurate 8 soil pH meter and an Oakton Ecotestr pH2 solution/liquid tester.....man, cheapest way to get the necessary "full coverage" insurance.....

The girl looks great...Looks like she likes the nice, LED light :)

IDK if it's been mentioned, but their is more of an imperative for Cal/Mag supplement now that she's an LED baby.

I'm probably going to get to harvest before I have $100 extra, as vacation weeks are here and I spent around $800 on this setup. I'll try to recuperate some costs by selling the old lamp and the massive fan included in the kit on eBay. Hehe, thanks for the tip though.

Anyhow. Is cal/mag still needed if my lamp has white LEDs?

Nothing really to report today. Some lower internodal foliage growing a bit more rapidly than the top node. So I'll just give you a MTV Cribs style fisheye lens shot of Smallie.

I would suggest regular Cal/Mag maintenance/supplement for any LED grow, personally....
The theories range as to why it's the case that they need it but most surround the concept that uptake is vastly accelerated due to the LEDs, some say it's the deep reds, 660nm or so...
But IDK if the presence of white spectrum does anything to alleviate the need. Small bottle of GH CaMg+ (0-0-0) should set you up. :)

I have run Cal/Mag since week 3, on every feed, and have never even gotten a spot of discoloration on my leaves (other than some tip burning that I know the source of ;)

But then I also checked my pH every day and buffered my feed solutions accordingly.....

Your Kiddo is already flowering? :O

I put in cal mag in the soil, mostly to manage pH, but it's probably been used up already. I'll look into it.

Yeah. It's like D31 I'd guess. She's like 4 in tall, hahah :/ I dropped the other two beans in yesterday. So I'll have a better date on when they pop up than this one.

Well well, Smallie is getting bushy and not at all growing in height. But that's ok

Because, look who decided to come up from the ground? Now, how long do I keep the ceran wrap until I change to a plastic cup?
