this is from thrips
thier out doors? than thier natural enemy's should be around soon enough
^^ thrips are his dinner
(i once had to put out 5000 of them to get a plauge indoors under control)
How sure are you this is from thrips, I mean i always thought thrip damage more was white marks/spots by enlarge, after just looking online sometimes it does look very simalar kind of spots though, Ive looked at a number of thrips products but which would you suggest?
So far they are out only in direct sun & not at night.
Cheers, i'm desperate to get to the bottom of this so everything is hugely appreciated.
I've had plants spot like that randomly and it didn't lead to anything, but you should keep an eye on it and post more pictures tomorrow. It doesn't look like rust to me. it just looks like those little spots died. I think the discoloration on the cotyledon is from improper seed development, so in the early stages when the plant was using its stored energy, it was lacking in a few places hince the spotting and only becoming visible when the leaves spread their wings(this may be completely wrong in your case) best thing to do from here is keep an eye on her with updated pictures so we can see if it is progressing. It may just have wanted to throw a few spots out and you may be fine from now on. But it may also be a leaf sucker or some nute problem. Only time can tell now...
...and I find encouraging words always help the little ladies out!!
That small one with the red like tint on the cotyledon is indeed a runt and is quite lucky to be alive, was not a good seed but as long as its alive, it will be loved!
I really want to stop it progressing rather than allow it to! not good!
I will post up more pictures tomorrow if any change though of course.
I seem to remember having spots like this on a barneys blue cheese girl before and I managed to get a bit of bud off her but she was hugely affected and she got the issue much later than these girls have, if it is the same thing as my BC had before then this issue has the potential to kill.
Really hope it is something manageable and that wont stunt my little beauts!
Cheers for help

EDIT - I have just brought the plants in, they are in a bedroom and not on my windowsill any longer, will be avoiding the windowsill for security reasons from now on.
I can pretty much confirm that GW is right that it is thrips, I have now seen a couple of the white tell tale marks left by thrips and the plants are otherwise healthy, the younger seedlings have barely, if at all been touched either which makes sense as they will not be as nice to suck on for the thrips.
The only thing I need to work out is what to do next, which product is best for not stunting/being chemically but doing the job well & if that's unrealistic, which chemically one is the best at the job.
I am glad its thrips though, it can be potentially managed & it is not as bad news to me as LSF or nute issues.
Big thanks to those who have contributed & for those who come up with the answers for the next steps to take.
legends!
