hi guys, im on my first think different grow, which is in the end of week 4. im wondering if the "5 leaf branche" the result of the LST?
I would say it's probably more due to the genetics and particular phenotype of the strain you're growing. Sometimes plants will pump out 3, 5, or 7 fingered leaves. I've seen single leaves popping before. That's not to say it couldn't be a reaction to it's environment; but if you aren't noticing any other ill effects I wouldn't sweat it. Also, sometimes plants will experience surges of growth; it's possible it's a hormonal response to sudden growth (again, still wouldn't worry about it.)
As for your training, remember the "Low Stress" part of Low Stress Training; if the plant is reacting negatively to your training you're probably applying too much pressure to the plant. I have 22 plants in my space, every single one LST'd down to the max. Unless you're seeing some negative reaction going on with your plant (and it doesn't really sound like you are,) I wouldn't sweat it bro! Looks good from here! You're going to be in for quite the ride in about a month; I'm nearing day 70 on my TD's and holy moses bro. BUD CITY. HUGE pine cone buds!
As for LST; I like to treat plant stems like you're bending copper pipe. Bend a straight 90 in some copper pipe and you've just crimped it and ruined the integrity of your inside diameter. Put in a slow gradual bend though, and you can still get your 90 degree turn and the inside diameter stays relatively the same. Don't try to LST all at once; I usually end up tying down more and more branches at least once a week. Low and slow brother!
I see you're new to AFN; why not take a few minutes and stop by the
Introductions forum and introduce yourself? Good way to get some quick exposure when you're starting out and it will get your name out there a little bit!
Then, head over to the
