Hi All,
I thought I should do a quick review of this pH meter as I seem to have been recommending it a lot recently to some of the new arrivals here at AFN who are suffering pH problems.
I chose this meter after I found that the Muddy preferred meter (Control Wizard Accurate 8 pH) was not available in the UK. When I contacted the manufactuers by e-mail if there where any UK stockist's I was asked if I was interested in becoming a UK distributor! Not sure if that offer is still open but, for any
entreprenuers out there...........................?? I then looked at other meters that Muddy and others had mentioned, Hanna and Bluelab mainly and was somewhat put off by the price! Working in a scientific envoirment I asked around and was put onto this meter as a good, accurate and cost effect solution.
So, I have been using this meter for the last 2 years and I cannot fault it's peformance, it is extremely accurate (tested by experts at work) and does not need calibrating endlessly (I calibrate before the start of every grow) and is good for both soil testing and fluids, the only downsides are the glass probes which are little delicate if you are heavy handed (I have broken one!) but, there are replacement probes available, also I'm not sure of worldwide distribution (much like the Control Wizard Accurate 8 pH) but, in my book it's the Dog's Boll.................ocks!
Ratings out of 5
Accuracy 5
Calibration Method 4 (at least the instructions are in plain English!)
Price 5
Construction/Durability 5 (minus 1 for the glass probe)
