Indoor MasonJar’s Indoor Adventure

Soil choice for next run is Roots Organic 707.

Description

Formula 707 was created for a special kind of gardener: one who wants to control their own destiny. It is different from the other potting mixes created by Aurora Innovations. It was designed with greater water holding capacity, less perlite and pumice, and specific ingredients for large container gardening. In fact, the bag itself is a 30-gallon grow bag containing just less than 20 gallons of the finest quality potting mix. Made from only the finest ingredients including coarse peat, coco fiber, compost, perlite, pumice, worm castings, bat guano, fish bone meal, soybean meal, feather meal, kelp meal and much more.

Do you add anything? Perlite, microbes, cal-mag, etc.?

I’m going to mix in insect frass and some calmag. Water in some rootwise bio catalyst. I have the BAS build a flower to top dress with. Typically I water in some slow n steady each week. Bottle goes a long way. I try not to amend bag soils too much and top dress as needed.

Somehow I missed these on the ACI site and ordered them today. Along with a different lighting adaptor. So I’m hoping with all works out. Gonna be soaking seeds tonight and have it ready by Monday for planting.

Winter 2025/26 New
Decided on some variation of genetics for this run. I had just run the GC and DP outside and thought they’d be best suited for indoors since my outdoor area has had better results with photoperiod strains or autoflowers geared to outdoors. The BananaOG is supposed to be pretty solid. I wanted to compare the Whistling Diesel to the Humbolt Sour D I just grew outside as well as inside. The Humbolt version was pretty loud and sour. Working on finishing up tent prep with the fans electrical and tray2grow trays. If I have time leftover I’ll start up the soil prep.

These look like the 3rd generation of oscillating fans from ACI. The clamp style on gen2 worked fine and these are even better.

The AI controller has a lot of nice bells and whistles and more granular control of the uis ports and senses outside temp & humidity as well.

The CO2 & Light sensor is fair. The lighting sensor picks up my LED at 100% with the led running at 20% on the veg spectrum. I was hoping more along the lines of a more accurate reading in umol’s. The CO2 appears to read accurately and will compare when I get a chance with another sensor I have.

So here’s the AcInfinity gotcha…

There are only two sensor ports on the AI+ controller. So if I want to run the Soil Moisture Sensor, temp humidity sensor or the co2 I have to disconnect the CO2 light sensor and use that port. It’s pretty seamless and the controller automatically senses and reports the change of probes. If you want to use two soil probes you need a splitter too.

I swapped out some cables to oscillating fans with the UIS wireless transmitter/receivers and they worked great. It is an extra cost $39.99 for a pair.
Might be pricey but if you’re trying to minimize cable routing it’s a clean way to deal with it. Really plug and play!

Doing some soil moisture meter tests and comparing right after the water release. Which those damn auto pot valves still leak and looking in the garage for my Briggs and Stratton set.
