There are a couple problems with infusing into oil, and then straining to produce medicated oil.
First, unless you make a very weak oil, the oil won't be able to hold all the cannabinoids.
Second, there will always be a small amount of oil remaining in the strained out gunk.
Ardent Cannabis, maker of decarb devices, has experimented with oil infusions, and got 90% infusing 1 g into 30 mL oil.
That's very weak oil, and the best efficiency I've seen on more concentrated oils is 80%.
Typical infusions are about 50-70% efficient, according to a High Times study done a few years ago.
There are three ways to get everything.
1. Don't strain, and make whole herb pills of the right size to make dosing easy.
I make mine at about 20% of the dose size I need, and have to take 5 of them. Much stronger, and it's nearly impossible to get stuff into caps.
2. Use 190 proof alcohol, strain, evaporate off the alcohol, then add some oil and lecithin to make an oil tincture.
I can get the number of pills needed down to 1 or 2 doing this.
3. Use the strained out sludge for something else, because it will still have some potency.
If you decide to use alcohol, it will be expensive without a way to reclaim it.
If you use alcohol in MBM, don't exceed 130 F, or the alcohol will eventually evaporate off.
I've had an MBM go completely dry using 160 F and alcohol.
