Hey guys,

Fairly quick question, as we are expanding our artisanal line, and already having quite a large catalogue it's becoming fairly difficult to keep everything available and in stock from the originals line,

Also so strains have, to me, essentially been superceeded by better offerings,

For example triangle - which was our first og based strain was then bred to karmas og to make 3bog, the 3bog was then bred to the yeti og to make another upcoming original

Similar to auto blues, it was bred to the livers to make auto livers that'll be coming out shortly,

All the originals of course have a place in my heart and a place in our journey, and I feel they're good as classics but I'd rather keep developing new strains. And maybe it would be nice to have a tighter more concise catalogue.

The strains I would think to drop as feminised from the originals line would be:

Auto blues
Chem city blues
Deep blue c
Triangle
Sour bubbly
Sour hound f2

There's potentially future plans for the sour hound f2 and deep blue c - but I won't get into that now.

Any thoughts welcome as ever.

Cheers Mitch

Good idea. Imo the catalogue has already too much for the average Joe. From a personal perspective, I would rather see 10 strains maintained than 50 with a percentage of out of stock. You are a small company. Keep it manageable and keep focusing on bringing your excellent work to us customers. You have my full support :)

Ps. Could you please have a look at order 11983

Hey @mephisto,

I can only speak for myself but in my opinion this sounds very good.
As i am new to Autoflower and Mephisto and i want to try many of your strains its very hard to decide which one i should pick.
But when you dropped the Sour Livers and the Auto Livers freebies i was immediately sold on these because i thought that they have better genetics than your Auto Blues.
Also if i would try an OG i would wait for the Yeti cross or would buy your Artisanals 3BOG instead of buying the Triangle, but yeah thats my opinion.
As i dont have much space its also very hard to grow any of your "old" strains, because my tent will be full with your new strains and then the illuminauto drop is knocking on my door, so is your september drop.
All in all i can say that there are enough strains to grow, also without the listed Originals.:pighug:

I hope this helps and many other people share their opinions with you !

p.s. do you have any strain informations to the Auto Cush (Green Crack) ? I got it as a freebie :)

I have grown many of the originals ,and yes the new ones are much better ,in fact the indica Walter and the grapey Walter produced some of the best meds I have ever grown .obviously you guys at mephisto are coming up with better and better autos improving non stop ,dropping the old might not be a bad idea, that indica Walter is the best so far tastes like candy mangos with a hint of lime an pine extremely good,I hate smoking it because every bowl I load is one less in the jar there is a calming feeling of having a jar of that .

Haven't grown any of your strains (yet) but my @InMephistoWeTrust pretty much nailed my thoughts exactly. IMHO, none of the strains you mentioned (Auto blues, Chem city blues ,Deep blue C, Triangle, Sour bubbly, Sour hound f2) are ones that I'd be personally interested in growing out, at least as a newbie. Much more interested in the 3bog, Beary White, Walter White, Grape Crinkle, etc.

Long story short - there's definitely a place for nostalgia and the strains you started out with, but if you're consistently putting out better and better genetics it seems silly to keep the older stuff in regular rotation.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

Idk how you guys can keep so many strains, and then add new ones all the time. I got no issues with them retiring, although Sour Hound is my go to pain meds. Still got beans tho, so no worries.

I couldn't agree more with the current sentiment ... If retiring outdated originals, frees up resources for more R&D ... that will only benefit us all :bighug:

and i imagine it's more fun looking after a new cross, than a repro just becourse u have to keep stock :pighug: :worship:

Cheers :pass:

as a fan of the walter white leaning side of things, its ok with me.
