Mephisto Genetics Mephisto Genetics Micro Grow.

Week Six. Photo taken under natural light. When I use the flash. The flash washes out all the green and they look sick. They are NOT sick at all. Both girls are healthy and look like they should be 1/2 way through their life cycle.

Auto Blues is a shorty. There was really no need to LST her. She's a big BUD under all the vegetation. A little stinky as well.

Looking good. What was the solution to the picture problem?

I just took the pics with my Cannon digital and kept it horizontal. If I try to get a vertical shot. It posts sideways. What do people do with selfies? By the way...I 'am Selfie Free...have never taken a selfie...also Facebook, Tweeter and any other (anti) social medium free. I like face to face conversation in social settings. Looking at someone can tell if they are genuine or not.

Note: Don't answer the phone in the restroom. Does this call really that important that it needs to answered while draining the vain.

Back to our regularly scheduled program. CFLs.

I have 225 actual watts of CFL blasting away in my little grow room. It looks bright, but when I measure at the top of the canopy with a lumens meter the intensity is similar to outdoor daylight (not direct sun). 20,000 to 30,000 lux.

Wouldn't the plants give better growth/buds with twice as much intensity? Seems like T5's can be almost 50% more efficient than CFL. I guess longer tubes are more efficient? Hmmm, maybe CFL has higher efficiency at the leaf because we can adjust them more precisely to fit the plant?

compact fluorescent max 11.45%
T5 tube florescent max 15.63%

As anyone follows my feeble attempt to grow cannabis (autoflowers). You know I recommend the web site Grow Weed Easy as an excellent source of info for noobies to cannabis pros. Growing weed is easy. Knowing the genetics of the strain and getting the proper strain for your set up is important. You wouldn't grow a sativa that's final height would be over 4 feet in a grow space less than 10 square feet. Unless you are good at LST and have the time to weave the four footer to be less than 18"-24" tall. Done it, but took a lot of training and time.

The same goes with nutrients. Growing weed is easy and there is no need to spend $100's of dollars on nutrients. I'd love to be able to afford House and Garden nutrients. I 'am sure the H&G line is tops in supplying your girls with what they need to produce excellent buds. That goes with any costly nutrient line. Expensive nutrients doesn't mean excellent results. Too many other factors are involved that can screw up on your girls.

I've been using Technaflora's for Success since I started growing cannabis indoors. I got the nutrient line when I purchased the SuperBox. RfS came with the box. The SuperBox is designed and sold as a hydro set up. The hydro set up is still in the original box. It's in my Den's closet and more than likely will never be used by yours truly. I've no real issue with RfS. It's produced for me nice grows and some excellent bud. Follow the RfS directions as any nutrient line and your grow should be stress free.

Grow Weed Easy has a section on cannabis nutrients. They don't recommend one over the other. There is a quality inexpensive (GWE's term) nutrient line called Dyna-Gro. It comes in Grow, Bloom and Pro-Tek. They have other micro nutrients, but the three above nutrients are what they have in their feeding schedule. They do have a "Cal_Mag" supplement and really any "Cal-Mag" supplement is good enough.

I went to my grow supply shop and bought the Dyna-Gro Grow, Bloom and Pro-Tek. It cost me less the $50.00. The Dyna-Gro is a feed with EVERY watering. 1/4-1/2 teaspoon per gallon of the Grow when in VEG and Bloom when in FLOWER also 1/4-1/2 teaspoon of Pro-Tek that needs to be added 1st to the water if you plan on using it. Know where I am going with this?

I WATER-WATER-FEED with RfS. Each watering is a total saturation then near soil dryness (Wet/Dry). I gave my MGMG II girls a good WATER on the 4th day. That was to flush what ever RfS was in the soil. Then today started the Dyna-Gro Bloom, Pro-Tek nutrient schedule. This fits into my goal of great grows with less. No expensive lighting. No expensive set up and now not a costly nutrient cycle.

This is not a test grow with Dyna-Gro. I trust Grow Weed Easy. Now it's a let's see what Dyn-Gro can do.
