Mephisto Genetics Mephisto Mountain Meds 2.0: Auto Cush, Sour Crack x Chemdogging, Auto Blues, Tyrone Special, Chem Ci

Thanks, Waira! A treat to have you stop by!

In my experience, it doesn't have to be a no-no

starting In final pot, may allow plants to end up bigger,

in smaller pots you can risk stunting, leaving them too long before transplanting = stunted, allowing pot to dry out = stunted

i do notice people reporting the day they show sex is several days later than what we usually see, whether this is down to lighting or pot size, I couldn't say.

A germinated seed sown into a 1.5 litre square pot,
we see pre-flowers from days 12-19 from sprout.
but we transplant when they are barely visible.

And so I think the correct care and timing of the transplanting is the key to minimising any ill effect.

cheers
I`m not one to hand out advice, but if you transplant `carefully`, then I reckon it it`s fine (I would`nt loosen the soil and would just make their new `home` as pleasant as could be. Your girl may take a few days to `settle in`, but I reckon they`ll deall with it and probably enjoy their new home/enviroment! Just my "My 2 cents", but plants with a higher Rudy persona needed more care and attention...These days, breeding skills have made them a lot less fussy (I believe!) I could be way off mark, but, I doubt it...(am now waiting for the obligatory slating and counter arguments...Bothered! :Gary:

Hey Gbd

Everything is looking good as usual :)

That's a good looking light you got there too.

Thought I put my 2 cents in on the transplant discussion.

Grow space 110cm x 60 cm x 200cm tall

510W actuall draw - approx 85W per square foot {if I need it as all lights have selective switch)

I like to stunt my plants as I have limited space and can't afford any empty stalk.

I start coco in 1.4 Liter 10 cm square & 17 cm deep and allow to dry out and water to 30% run off, this encourages the root to go down to the bottom. At first sign of sex, I transplant to coco final pot and start PK two week later.

I use 24/0 Light {not everyone's cup of tea but works for me} This allows the temp to remain at a constant, which in conjunction with the transplanting at sex ,massively reduces stretch.

No fluctuations of heat, starting in a small pot and transplanting at sex gives me sturdy compact plants.

I have now used this method twice, my last grow I got 2.5 OZ dry from a 12" plant and the 18" Northern Lights I got 5 OZ dry & all together from 4 plants ranging from 12" - 18" I got 13.75 OZ dry.

This a method that suits me, If I had a larger grow space maybe I wouldn't bother, but I am glad I have used this method and seems to be quite a commonly known method among seed breeders to keep plants compact, yet I haven't seen it used by other growers.

I will of course be using this method again in my next grow {hope to start in next 2 weeks} with my Mephisto beans - Triangle Kush, Sour Bubblin crack, Tyrone special & Hubbabubbasmelloscope.

Keep up the good work and happy growing Gbd :Sharing One:

We don't do it to keep them compact, just because we have to run more for selection reasons.

but I would suggest if you have limited space to train or top them, but with bigger soil volume.

When I was back in the closet :)
i had a grow space built into an alcove, I wasn't limited with vertical height so much but the area was small, I had some great results using 2 litre pop bottle cut down and then raised transplanted.

i really think it's to do with the transplant timing rather than babying or not disturbing them, we don't baby ours when we pot up. And being autos they take to it so quickly, literally the next day the plants look significantly bigger all round.

Cheers

Progress on the flood table stand. I got a friend to weld up something special so it should last! The back feet have an extra few millimeters of shim welded under them to aid in drainage.

Very nice man! Love a bit of engineering , you may well put us to shame with this run :)

No chance I'll put you guys to shame. I'm just hoping to keep them alive!
