New Grower Microwave's 2nd LED Grow - Purple Kush

Thanks Tang & Steely. I have no idea how long purple kush goes for, I'm using Muddy's rule of thumb that when the fan leaves are yellow then it's time to harvest. She's getting close. Another 10 days to 2 weeks could be about right.

One reason she may have matured so quickly is that I've run the led 24/0. Doesn't seem to bother her. The light cycle was an experiment which seems to have worked.

Day 52 ~ Buds are more phat and more phrosty. More sticky also. I've started flushing today. Hop digity

Thanks Tang , this strain is certainly a fast grower, she always seemed to be about a week ahead of where I thought her development would be.

Day 56 from germination ~ Chop! For a variety of reasons I chopped her down today. Patience is a virtue when growing anything, and I'd have liked to have given her another week or so, but couldn't. Very frosty and solid buds. Because my wife and I aren't heavy tokers, we would be more than happy to get an oz. out of this grow, which I think we'll get once she's dried. I'll post the dry weight in a few days and also do a smoke report around Christmas. :dance2:

What I learned from this grow:

1. Purple Kush will grow fast and not react negatively to a 24/0 light cycle, at least when using a low wattage led like mine (90 watt ufo led).
2. Purple Kush doesn't respond very much to nutes but she certainly drinks ALOT of water. Purple Kush is a very easy plant to grow.
3. I trimmed only 5 or 6 fan leaves from her when she was a seedling. Trimming these fan leaves early allowed for additional branches to form, branches which weren't receiving light due to the large fan leaves covering them.

Bbb ~ This plant is very easy to grow. I was surprised at how quickly she matured with a very light application of nutes. Maybe I just had a good bean????? :High 5:

I'd let her go 65 - 70 days if you're not seeing the results that I was fortunate to get. Have a great grow! :smokebuds:

I finished a couple of PK in my last grow, my lady's were very light yielders, going to use my last 2 in a multipot maybe nxt round.

Here's the bud pic. of my yield. A lot of orange pistils and a very "earthy" scent to the buds. My camera couldn't get a good close-up of a single bud, but the buds are more purple than what the photo seems to show:

I agree, strange looking buds. I let most of the pistils go orange when she was alive and these orange pistils dominate the outside of the bud. I tried a small portion of a bud last night and it gave me an excellent body buzz, although the buzz didn't last long. In a month or so the cure should make for a longer buzz.
