Grow Mediums Mini Kratky 1.0 test - All organic......Will it work?

Hey pops, I got 1 runnin copying you as well lol. My roots are alittle discolored from algae but is still lookin good. Water temp is between 75 n 80. Its a clone so I can def tell it is not growing as fast as the original but then again maintaining her takes nothing. The slower growth could be my battle with algae, which ill never win where I live. Im happy with containment and contol lol. If I piss off my porch I swear it turns green or red when it hits the ground lol. You have any probs with algea?

I had a little in the bucket. I changed the bucket and washed the roots. haven't seen any more in over a month. Wash your roots, and add a few drops of H2O2 to your bucket when/if you change it. I'm doing about a 30 day cycle on changing the res. The minis i'm trying to just top up. the bigger plant should never be a problem, she's sucking up water faster and faster!

Someone on here had a video of some stuff he buys off the shelf that does the same as the organic teas for micros and keeps root rot off plants in dwc with it and never runs a chiller. Think he said water gets over 80 and his roots are always nice and white. Im guessing it yelps with algae too, prob be great for this style of growing. Wish I could remember who it was, I wanna watcu it again and remember the name of the stuff cause I wanna try some.

In the Kratky Method, the key to healthy roots is the proper airspace below the netpot. A minimum of 1" in most containers is needed. I'm running 1" in the mini buckets ( gives up a lot of volume but its needed ) and about 2" in the 2 gallon bucket. I'm thinking of making spacers to go between the netpots and the lids, to raise the pots higher, allowing me to add more nutrient solution to the buckets. If I can get the pots up high enough, I could fill the buckets to within an inch of the top, giving me almost 2 gallons instead of the little more than a gallon I get now in the 2 gallon bucket.

Yes, some of the mico additives might work. The failure previously however was insufficient nutrients not infection. This time I'm going to use wormcasting tea brewed as strong as I can reasonably get it. I’ll also change the buckets every 2 weeks instead of trying to top up or go a month. either way, it still keeps the system dead simple! :Sharing One:

Update:

Yesterday I needed to top up the 2 res again, girl are getting thirsty. Air has been pretty dry too though. RH right now is 31%. But my ladies look quite happy! The Sour Dragon in the larger bucket is now 12" tall and flowering nicely! Color is good and no signs of deficiencies in either plant. I'm very happy with how this is working now I can keep my ph in check. I'm still not checking ph in the res, only in the top up mixture. Looking forward to starting a 5 gallon bucket, just need to decide on a candidate. Maybe I'll post a list of choices and put it to vote!

lookin good pop. keep it up and you'll start a kratky revolution

How is it going Pop22?

What strain is going into the 5 gallon ? :D

Hey pop looking good there. Mine also have taken off and the stone dragon is flowering quite nicely. Had to add some h202 to combat a bit of bacteria but all in all its good. The photo i have going in the kratky is doing amazing. Update in my journal.

Finally have buds on a Kratky grown plant! Wooo Hoo! She's looking good too! Not looking shabby for growing in a quart of water! and Mini 1, with the Stone Dragon, is looking very good also, but I screwed up the ph of the top up solution and did some damage. I may have to move it to the other cab as she's not autoing. I've got a plant picked out for the 5 gallon Kratky bucket, mu last, Spliff Seeds White Widow. The fun never ends! :Sharing One:
