So, I have a vegetable garden, I have chickens, I have a compost pile . . . I really ought to be growing organic BUT as a lot of you guys are aware, I grow autoflowers in a very tiny stealth space. Is there a minimum threshold (pot size) below which you would say an LOS environment is probably not viable?

Hey @Archaic hows it goin? roots will grow horizontal if they cannot grow down. So perhaps you can get or make a pot 5 inches deep by whatever dimensions you have to work with. for example 5x8x12 inches = 2 gallons?

I have grown in organic soil water only (with very good soil) in a 5 gallon bucket. A second plant in that pot failed as it starved to death. This was before I started using fertilizers. So maybe 4 gallons will do it?

Do you think a pair of 3 gallon pots would work? I could certainly do a single wide flat pot, but due to my work travel I like the Autopots ability to water while I'm away. I just want happy worms like your man, that's all I'm asking for

I've seen good looking plants in 3 gal. You may need to add a bit of nutrients later in flower but using a living soil will allow you to use less nutrients and should increase the terpene expression and quality of the bud.

I'm using (2) 1 Gallon fabric pots and LOS in my tiny tent (30"x18"x36"). 2 weeks into flower and I've had to top dress twice as these girls are hungry! Watering is daily, but I also use blumat classics for some passive top watering help. There are nominal dimension differences between the 1 gal and 2 gal pots, so if you have headroom the 2 gallon pot would work much better.
