Hey everyone id like some input on what kind of quantities i should add of some amendments for soil with something extra but not quite a super soil.

Here is what I have now

25gal recycled soil
3gal grokashi (probiotic soil conditioner) http://gro-kashi.com/
1lb Super Tea guano mix (veg)
40lb Organic Humus
6cups Bone Meal
35lb Wholly Cow Manure Compost
2lb Jamaican Bat Guano

Items on the buy list from a local source http://www.rootnaturally.com/
Kelp Meal
EWC
Endo Myccorrhizae
Azomite Rock Dust
Diatomaceous Earth
Roots organic 707
Cocoa Shells

Plan on mixing and cooking for around 3-5 weeks, not hoping for a complete super soil but think this should get me on the right track to kick the bottles to the curb for a little while. When i finally need to feed will try to feed the food web the grokashi creates with compost teas, top dressings and as a last resort some nectar of the gods bottled organic feed.

Any insight on the quantities i should be mixing these or possible things to exclude or include would be great.

Havent been active on AFN for quite some time but will be showing some prep for my upcoming run. Im the most excited about adding grokashi to the mix, heard alot of hype and from what ive read its going to take things to another level with flavors and potency.

Thanks in advance for any input and glad to be getting back into the garden and groove with AFN.

Welcome back mclovin, I remember you.

There are several recipes in the sticky section of this forum. I have my recipe posted in my thread in this forum as well.

I suggest some neem meal if you can get it as well as su-pol-mag. There are a lot of recipes out there, I suggest picking one that is proven to work and build off of it. Much easier than trying to design one from scratch.

Wow man thats a pretty involved recipe there McLovin Are YOU McLovin?!! do ya gots da luuuube?!:crying: I watched that the other day cuz i needed a laugh man..killer stuff man.

If yer planning on biulding your own mix, thats great..gives you an excellent idea of understanding and seeing the micro dudes doin their thing.espically once Fungal dominance has been achieved. Are you planning on doing solely Autos in this mix?or both..that can play a role in doing your own mix.Ive dine many of my own with decent results too imo.but I started( Like Bro A4 said)from using an existing recipe I had confidence in,while I read and mixed and watch n learned.

I guess question 1 is do you plan on recycling the soil with the roots or you screening them and if they have been used with Chems its most likely not fair quality for an organic re amendment..can work, just not as solid is all.

and imho you can get rid of the Tea Veg mix stuff.

you can cut the Humus in half

2 less cups of bonemeal or even three.that much is not needed imo.

And if you have 25 gallons of recycled soil,15 of Humus,25-30 LBs of Castings, and roughly 10 -20 Lbs of another quality compost.better yet use your soil,25 or so LB bag of biochar,25 Lbs of casting,10 of Mushroom compost and 10-15 LBs of cow manure compost.ya wanna talk bout fungal dominance with a living tea?>yeah buddy!!

then you have your booster type materials. IE: guanos n such.

if you can get prilled lime, get it..if not powdered dolomite lime is fine.with crush crabshell too.melts n blend far better than many things.and to have staying power, thats where oyster shell comes into play.all else is quick to medium degradation..:Sharing One:

and if you want a more active Myco population dude, you should build your own or look at Fungi PErfect the Endo spectrum as a grow inoculate seed to amend with a soil.extremely effective stuff.promise.ok.well.memory is going and im losing focus.so ill catch ya round dude.have ya read the Rev book or one similar?I'll get bacj to ya about teas cuz there is a free book I was reading and its really good..ok.L8r dude!

oh and just in case I forgot to mention it,ya really dont need some of those products imho brother. Here to you goin organic dude!!thats pretty awesome man!!:pass: oh almost forgot, dont waste your effort in wasting your DE dude, use Insect frass or drench your soil with a gnatrol and 209 solution and you'll be right as rain all through your grow.well unless ya got serious issues.anywho,be good dude.Mc Luuuuvinnn!! lol:Sharing One:

Hey guys thanks for the info, ill see what my supplies are closest to for a tested mix. The recycled soil i have has been in a tote covered for about 5 weeks picked out the roots initially and will screen it all twice before mixing amendments.

Ill see whats available at my local shops for mush compost, crushed crab shells, neem meal, su-pol-mag . Heard of a soil testing facility in my area may try and get my mix tested after its cooked to see the n/p/k ratios. Scratching the tea mix will allow me to use that for an easy brew with ewc when needed.

The mix will be for autos and photos. Will end up with a 2 or 3 thin tiers of the mixed batch depending on what size pot the autos in. For photos will do 3 thicker tiers with thin layers of soil between them as a buffer.

Should be rounding up the final amendments after payday and start cooking will report back here with the final mix and try to supply some pics for the hell of it.

With everything cooking itll give me some time to figure out what the hell im gonna sow into it

Thanks for the help guys!

McLuvin Whats Up maan!

Cotton Seed Meal over Feather meal imo it tends to last a little longer within the soil if I recall right...?.But Im really tired atm, been workin all day..But if noone gets back to ya ill give this a closer look tomm..er...later today LOL!! also blood meal with cotton will possibly be too hot..but if yer mixing down when potting ya should be fine n pluggin it too.blood meal with work out quicker than a meal generally.

If there is anyway to replace the Peat moss with Maybe mushroom compost and peat 50/50 mix..? the peat is excellent so dont get me wrong it'll be awesome, but tends to lose its properties a bit quicker in a more flash in a pan style of feeding n blending is all..well imo anyways..lol. man Im baked..LMAO!! McLovin!! LOL!

Are the castings composted? if so Killer and I hate you too(j/k) cuz I need to get to that point myself locally sourced n grow my own stuffs too.LOL!!But even if not compost them and you can use squeezes to feed teas n top coats and fresh slurry spikes n all kinds of rippin killer stuff too.so if your cooking yer batch for awhile you can compost them with your soil as long as yer temps n Rh n moisture content are decent..

Meat meal??unfamiliar with that or maybe Im used to it being called something else or maybe Im just really tired n really kinda mealty ,ya know?! LOL!

Also (sorry Im all over the place LOL )imho ya may wanna think about a little bit of crab And oyster shell since you'll get the Loooong haul step cal process to last and help feed and recycle for a significantly more longer feeding time.Long term building is what your going for it sounds like,so hot is jusst fine man and imo frigin sweet too.cut it n yuup!

Also if your going to cook it outside which is fine but a few things I personally would recommend If you can swing the costs ofcourse, but not necessary.but helps all across the board imo.In the sun in a tote open with a soil solarfication type of cooking and let it cook n do its thing after a good mix after 3 weeks then another three weeks or even 4 if ya can..yeah,,Im jealous..LOL! And insect frass as well which will provide natural properties within the soil to increase the Chitosan production in turn benefiting thee antire garden from the start and PM and pest property control too.

But if not Just slide it into a Tote indoors above 60 F(higher is better)just let it breath and maintain a proper moisture level and you'll be ok in 40 days imo.

OH yeah..LOL the endo nycos yer using..if your going a lil more bold up front Id say use the Endo Seeds from Fungi Perfect along with atleast two to three Multi spectrum teas to hit it with to increase the grow capabilities of the soil and the root system.cuz as ya know Endo is more cannabis specific but again other variants will feed and chow down on one another to that in turn provides them an extra level of food on a more Micro level which benefits ..well..everything..lol.

Well anyways Im baked and really high ..lol I think thats all I wanted to say man..I hope that help you decide on what either to add and/or omit to/from your soil. ill take a gander later n see how tired I sounded LOL! And top dressing id be happy to yap about later on if yer at all interested LOL! Its taken me forever to srite this Cuz Im high n tired and Im slow anyway typing..LOL! L8r there McLuuuuvin man!"AFN smoke out":pass:

McLovin .... I'm interested in the Gro-Kashi ... I see a sale price of 2 bags for $40 free shipping ... what quantity is 2 bags ... I couldn't find it on the site ... thanks.

Hey Chester the grokashi is what I'm most excited to dump into this mix. I bought 3 bags and should last 1 full run as amendment and top dressings weekly. It comes in 1lb bags and it's suggested to add at 1-2% of total soil volume. Going a little under for my recipie to cook and will utilize it more for a dressing. It's all made by hand and made to order so takes about 3 weeks to order and recieve. Thankfully free shipping and comes in an awesome gold bag hah. I'll get some pics of my amendments tonight haven't had the funds to order the rest of my stuff so hope I don't run out of meds by the time it's cooked and I'm growing again.
