Hello all,
I'm in the research and parts shopping phase of my first real grow and so far the only thing that stumps me is the reservoir size
I plan on a 4 site, 5 gallon bucket setup with either a 15 or 30 gal rez. Neither of which I've seen used. It seems like most systems are using either a 5 gal rez or smaller.
My question is, which would be a better option as far as efficiency? 5 gal, 15, or 30?

I use 10 gallon tanks for autos and 17 gallon tanks for photos. I started with smaller ones, but it does affect the plant size. Now I go from where I germinate them straight to large tanks, also using the large mesh basket. Tired of plants that can't stand on their own. Bigger containers allow for stronger and bigger trunks.

I am going to be setting up my 5 site RDWC with 8 gallon totes and a 33 gallon rez. I will tag you in it when I start the thread on me building it

@witchyhour, the 30 gal tote I'm debating using as my rez was actually gonna be my main grow station. It very well may be after seeing your setup. Are you using all Led??

@derek420colorado using what info you've provided, I've come to the conclusion that my rez needs to be around 20-25 gallons for 4 5 gallon buckets.
This helps so much you guys. I've been searching for almost a week. Will post pics when I get everything set up

Yep that will work fine my friend, also if you are doing shopping(I know I know everyone else is tired of hearing me talk about AIR lol but it is kinda my thing) then the MOST important piece of gear IMO is your air pump. If you are going to be running 4, 5 gallon buckets then I would recommend getting this air pump http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ecoplus-Com...um-hydroponics-eco-plus-divider-/131573635694 and getting 3 airstones for each bucket or 1 8 inch flat disc like this they have them for about half the price of this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Anjon-8-Dis...891232?hash=item4d40d08d20:g:p3YAAOSwr7ZW4iSv this will give you 50LPM per site which is how you get big roots like this.
