Grow Mediums multipe technique grow

Hey buddy. Pop 22 did the research and initially posted, but i followed along and tried one myself. It is a dwc that solely relies on air breathed in by plant itself with no aid from some pumping system. It just sits in a pail of water and nutrients with a one inch gap between the bottom of netpot and nutrient solution. That gap provides the air it needs. If you google kratky you get the doc that created the method and his research.

progress is good

This gets better as i go along. The one stone dragon in the kratky bucket is flowering so she was moved into the tent with the photo jack herrer. Hopefully she will stretch out some. The root pic belongs to the stone dragon, the small one is another photo jack herrer finally put into the second kratky. Now im waiting on an order of candy cane from crop king in BC.

Great! Nice to see someone else willing to experiment with this. I am thinking though, as this has only been tested with fast growing vegetables, that maybe the bucket needs to be changed every thirty days,as the nutrient solution may be out of balance. I haven't seen that yet in my small buckets. I did change out the large bucket once.

Hey pop thanks for checkin in. Ive been changing out my res quite often, once every week or so just to keep it clean. Now thats its in the tent the water will cool down. Guess ill have to wait for deficiencies. The old res water im repurposing for the photo jack feeds.

Cool beans. Lookin good! Im tryin something along the same line. Runnin between 6&700 ppms to see how it pans oit with multiple strains. Got 4 autos and a photo going, so far all healthy.

progress

Quick update. Kratky 1 is doing well. I have her under a single big cfl to try to stretch her out a bit in the grow tent. The big girl in there is hogging all of the hps trying to finish. Takes forever for photos to finish. This is a jack herrer and im excited to get her out. She is foxtailing and has happened several times when to close to the lite. I cant raise it anymore. The bucket is in a canna coco solution 1 ec and 5.4 ph.

Happy new hear everyone. Been a while so ill make this current. Have 2 kratky buckets going. One with a stone dragon and the other with a photo jack herrer. Both doing well. The stone is on a heavy feed which was more accident then anything else, decided to leave it to c what happens. The photo is feeding well at 800 ppm or 1.6ish ec for you folken. Using canna coco a+b with big bud for the flowering with a bit of calmag. Ill let the pics say the rest.

Kratky buckets doing great. Such a good method to stumble upon. The buckets are providing feeds at about 1100 ppm and the stone dragon (in mid flower) has pk 13-14 added to it now. The other is the same minus the pk. Tweaks are needed but definately a method im going to persue later. Happy growing :gthumb:
