hi guys first time posting pics so bare with me. im trying to figure out how im going to setup a carbon filter, is there anyway to do it without making any holes anywhere? if you can see picture three i can vent thru the side of the wall to the rest of the attic but im not sure if that will work. will i have to keep my closet open and have the filter in the closet and the duct over the wall? i want to be able to shut the closet doors but theres no way to duct outside the closet without making any holes. can anyone help me out? MUSTARD has been a hell of a lot of help and im posting these pics so you can get more of an idea of what im working with.

Hey IDS So pic 3 is an overhead from outside your room? Cant really tell, but anyway heres the lowdown. You need to clean stinky air and get it out of the space cleaned.

What I would do to keep it clean, Mount something like this (many kinds of vents)on the outside top of your space at one end high on the wall or ceiling, either. then inside the space start with Filter>>>>>>to Fan>>>>>just a bit of flex duct from Fan to Flange of vent you installed. You might want to cover the upper louvres with some cardboard covering from inside the door. Now with your fan going cool air will get sucked into the room thru the open lower louvres and warm carbon scrubbed clean air expelled out the vent.

Probably everything 4" compatible would work 6" would give you more control especially with a variable speed controller.

Thanks Mustard, naw thats not from the outside of the room its in the room it opens up to the rest of the attic, its almost like a 2 story attic, we inherieted this place, its been remodeled a whole lot. urban farmer posted on my other post that i could put the carbon filter in my grow space and it will scrub the air with out having to duct. i have a really good ventilation system, the air flows into the room and up over that wall you see in pic three and out a window (really, really high up grom the ground.) Let me know if im just not getting a point of why people duct, but im trying to do it without im just trying to minimize the smell as much as possible before it moves up and out that window.

You have a tough space my friend. :smokebuds: In order to control odor you need to confine the space. If you just run a fan and filter in the space you are not creating negative pressure by expelling the air out of the space. Could you put a plywood ceiling in? You need to get a decent sealed area to suck air in and blow or suck scrubbed air out.

I think if you are not ducting your filter you need an even stronger fan to scrub as much air as possible before it heads to the window.

If you open that window skunk in the hood. Exactly what you dont want. You need to confine the space with a ceiling then the air leaving the space will be clean and can waft out the window.

And dont think odor rises if you grew right now your house would stink. And neighbors might smell your grow.
