Thanks to all for the nice and warm welcome i received over at the introduction thread.

I started this grow on the 25th of September. 3 Auto seeds ordered from pick n mix

Paradise Pandora
Paradise whiteberry
Sweet Creme caramel

i started/germed these all off using the paper towel method. but as i had no paper towels i used toilet roll. and never will i use Andrex again.

Within 48 hours the caramel sprouted first followed by the berry and lastly the Pandora.

I didn't have any individual pots to sow my seedlings, so i cut the bottom off a 5 litre water container, made some holes and filled it with some Westlands Multi-purpose compost with added JI. I then planted all 3 seeds and added a little water. and placed the container in my groom under 3 x 25w CFLS.

(Then the excitement sets in)

2-3 days later the seedlings emerged. :jump:

the 1 on the right is creme carmel
the left is whiteberry
front its the pandora.

Within a week or so i decided i would transplant them into the 7.5 litre pots.
I was going to re-pot them into a smaller pot and gradually finalise them. But i read that some growers just plant them straight into their final growing pots straight after germination.

I only had two 7.5 litre pots. But i just managed to acquire a much bigger pot from my neighbours garden. which i thoroughly cleaned.

Id also read alot of good things about John innes no2. so that was my growing medium. along with some perlite. I did a 70% soil to 30% perlite mix.

Transplanting was a bit of a nightmare. i couldn't tip the container up side down i would have needed 4 hands to do this. a hand per plant. and a hand for the tipping action ....so i got a dohnut cutter and placed that over each little plant and sliced into the soil, twisting as i push down gently. then id tilt the cutter and pull the plant out of the soil, that seemed to do the trick. (the cutter was about 3 inches in diameter) i dont think i stressed the young plants as i was very gentle. Next i filled up my pots with the mix of perlite and JI no2. leaving about half an inch to the rim. i then got a pint glass and pushed that down into the centre of the pot to create the perfect mould for my seedlings. everything went beautifully. i sat the 3 pots on dinner plates and carefully added some water. i then carried them one by one up into my groom. and neatly sat them down in a triangle formation. positioning my lights and left them on for 24 hours and that was that.

Every time i could and daily id check on them and they seemed to start off on their vegetation stage. (i think)
3 days later i decided it was time for a watering this is where things go wrong. after watering carefully, the perlite seem float to the top and the soil would sink exposing lower parts of the stem.

I Immediately considered JI no2 to be completely crap. the stuff was too light and fluffy almost like sand. i just left it and carried on watering filling up the sunken soil with more JI each time i watered. after 8 days the plants looked like they were dying the 1st pointed leaves had patches of yellow and the points were drooping downward. I decided to switch back to westlands MP with added JI. (that was the stuff i used on my 1st two grows) So another transplantation was carefully executed.

I had ran out of perlite...so i mixed in some of the JI no2 that i previously used (it already had perlite mixed through it) with the westlands and replanted.

Now its getting on and the plants are not gaining height but are getting bushy. the temperature in there is a 24-26 degrees. im using english mineral water called ashbeck. i used that on my 1st and second grow its PH at the source is 6.2

here are some pictures taken earlier

And oh fur fuck sake the fan blew away the stick it labels identifying each plant

They look ok for there age, but I think you could start them on a mild solution of veg nutes if you havn't started already

Hey Pandora, welcome to AFN! :smokebuds:

The plants are lookin nice and green. They might have been stunted a little bit from the multiple transplants, but if you keep showing them love they might be able to make up some of that height in the next few weeks. I agree with namvet, they're ready for a feeding if you haven't given it to them already.

I look forward to following along with your first grow! :smokeit:

they look healthy what they need is far far more light

Best of luck with your grow Pandora, I will be following along watching your progress! There are a lot of great people here that are more than willing to share their knowledge I hope that your three are healthy strong ladies! =)

looking green and mean pandora.

glad you let us inside the box.

crossing fingers for all females!

Here i am again with a follow up on my 3 autos. i wish i had the time to post the progress of my grow more often but my employment gets in the way.

Anyway i think its time that i splash out on a decent lighting setup. i was checking out a 125watt CFL Lighting kit on greens and growell but the P&P for both is a bit pricey. i guess that is due to living in the far north east of Scotland.

so i did a bit of research to try and find a web-store near me and i came across.

http://www.gavsgrow.com

and

http://www.abergreen.co.uk

hopefully the P&P shouldn't be too expensive

Id be very grateful if someone could point out what items id need i saw a CFL reflector but there doesn't appear to be a standard UK type plug fitted and i therefore believe id need a ballast, and im unsure as to which Ballast id need.

Also which brand of nutrients should i buy. Thanxx in advance

Anyway going back to my Grow, things are looking better. i went and bought 3 more clip on light holders and some osram cfl bulbs so each plant now as two lights hanging above. its defo made a difference and the plants are looking good i think. although some of the tips are yellow and dry looking. i had this with my 1st 2 grows but i never really took note of why this may be happening.

The white-berry appears to be the healthier of the other 2. the creme caramel is looking fine though. but the Pandora looks mutated. the stem just above the soil is very bent and curved. you will be able to see this in the pictures below.

I gave my groom a makeover as the pure white walls didn't seem to be reflecting the way i hoped. i think i used the wrong paint. so i got some heavy duty kitchen foil. and carefully stuck that to the walls. shiny side face down. i read that foil isn't the best reflecting material. but its adequate. there shouldn't be any hotspots as i made sure there were no creases. Anyway here's a few pictures of my 3 auto's. i cant wait until they are ready for harvest. As you all know..there is nothing more exciting than smoking your own :o

The one at the front is the Pandora. she is easily identified by the kink in the stem.

The back right is whiteberry and the back left is the creme caramel

Thanks for looking

Peace love n light

Hello Pandora,

I just started my first grow ever and I I have 2 Pandoras and 10 Whiteberrys, plus 7 AutoMaria2.. So we're pretty much doing the same thing! Yours are looking good, I'm sure the extra light will help them. I'm having a bit of trouble with the pandoras as well as they seem to be extremely sensitive to heat compared to the WB which are pretty much indestructible. Anyhow, best of luck to you and if you ever want to compare notes I'll be around!

Cheers,

-natty

I like this girl, she looks nice and symmetrical  If P&P becomes too much just add more of the 25w cfls. For optimal yields you want around 100w per plant.
