New Grower My First AF Grow strain is BCG'S Spyder

hey everyone and fellow growers my name is greenvapors and i have started my very fist AF grow im using 1 125w 6400k interlux CFL grow light and 3 100w 2700k CFLs in a home made grow box i made out of some old cardboard boxs i had lying around it is approximately 3'wX3'deepX5'6" high and i have medium size fan, the box is lined with reflective material , i have 2 spyders i started i got a 10 pk but decided i would wrather try 2 first since i havnt grown autoflowers before

its week 2 and a day and both are doing great growing quickly the bigger of the 2 which oddly enough sprouted after the other one now has 6 branches coming in , the second one also has 6 branches but it seems to almost be a day behind the other one can deffinately tell i have 2 phenotypes

anyway i just wanted to say hey and let everyone kno the scoop

one has shown sex and its a male yaaaay i can make my own seeds now :dance: the second plant is still building structure and obviously a female :booya: the leaves have purplish tint to them had them on a 20/4 light cycle and have since moved it to 24hr light cycle which is what they need to bud under according to the breeder tomorrow will be the 20th day from sprout still no pistils on the female , but she did come up a day after the male so i guess i should start seeing pistils in the next 3 days i figure

its day 22 and the female has yet to produce any pistils i was wondering if this is normal , i heard that autoflowers usually show sex by day 20 like my male did oh well im sure she will show soon =) the female is getting nice and bushy the branches are starting to get branches , both have stretched a bit not much maybe 1/8 inch or more the male deffinately looks sativa , the female looks more like indica short and bushy nice thick stems i keep the fan on them 24/7 very happy with their growth been doing some leaf tucking tech on the female she reached 7 finger leaves now start out long and thin but end up fat and hearty any way thats my up date for today happy blayzin trails every one

well gave my female a good looking over and discovered pistils YAAAAAAAY :dance:my male is doing great nice pod formations leaves have a nice purplish tint to them no purple pods yet but its still early i know i havnt posted any pics yet sorry peeps will try to get some up shortly , one of the fan leaves on my female has twisted its self completely around and is faceing down in stead of up lol i wonder what could have caused that guess she thought it was time to flip that leaf lol , i am praying that the male will pollinate my female soon before she has a lot of bud clusters i really dont want that many seeds i would preffer if only the very first pistils get pollinated that way i will still have pretty much sensimilla , the female already has a nice lemony berry skunk smell to her i noticed after i took her out and examined her or it could have been the male or possibly both =)

Hey greenvapors. everything sounds to be going pretty good, but I would start to tie your lady spyder down for a bigger yield, and you can gather the pollen and just hit up a branch for less scattered seeds. Btw the males start to blow pretty early so be prepared or you will have no sensi. best of luck and keep us updated.

well my female is pollinated, i removed the male from the box all together and have him under a 100w 2700k cfl , i did the morning check up and discovered my male had 1 sack open so i put my finger nail under the flower and gave it a tap and a nice pile of pollen fell onto my nail so took one of my #1 brushes new of course i havnt used it to paint with yet and fill it with the pollen off my naill i checked it to make sure the pollen was there under my light the pollen is white turned my fan off waited till it was completely still and began painting pistils not too many gave each set a good painting got a good bit of pollen just from one pod put the pod in a mason jar and used my brush to knocked it around the jar still got plenty of pollen left will continue the process until all the pods have opened i figure i could also just bend the branches over and stick them in the jar and shake them , i also started feeding my female i am using a 10-52-10 bloom fert with my own natural additive i am using the fert @ 1/4 strength and she seems to be loving it gave the male a small feeding too not really waisting too much on him since he is already bursting with pods and going to be pulled soon so i can flush the pot and get it ready to go for when my female is done i figure at the rate she is going now and the fact that she has alot of branches she will be filling the rest of the space out quickly there is a few branches i need to tie down some of them are grouping in 3's i have to pull them all apart so they can get air flow and light any way that is the update at this time

View attachment 144398 as promised here is a pic of my BCG Spyder Female she is in a 3 gal pot still branching like crazy some of the calyxes have started turning a pinkish purple just like the pic on the web site she is over 2 ft and the closet where i keep her reaks of a lemony berry skunk smells sooo bomb =) i have polinated her should get maybe a dozen seeds which is plenty for me considering i still have 8 more spyder seeds from the seed bank left and some freebie feminized seeds might try and pollinate them with some spyder pollen and see what i get =)
