Lighting My first-ever Autocob grow! (HSO Blue Dream x2)

Howdy folks! Never really sure how to set up/structure the info in these grow logs, so I'll try to keep it short & sweet!

Strain: HSO Blue Dream Auto
Lights: Big Smo's Autocobs x2 running 18/6
Tent: 2.5"x2.5"x6"
Medium: Hempy Bucket w/Growstones (Mix This! size) rinsed & Ph'd as recommended
Nutes: ArmorSi/MaxiBloom/CaliMagic/Mammoth P/Tap Water PH'd to 5.8
Environment: RH/Temp: 50-55% & 77-74F during lights off, 43-47% & 84-88F during lights on. (high temps are due to us being stuck in a heat wave the past few days. Tent usually keeps to 84F.)

Started in rockwool cubes on 5/29, seedlings emerged on 6/2. Both seedlings looked a little wonky - one stretched quite a bit right off the bat and had very small cotyledons, and both had their tops tilted sideways for the first couple days. Also, Lefty seemed to have some type of whiteish mottling on the leaves. I posted a couple pics in the Infirmary (reposted below as well) and was advised to just wait and see, so I did. Potted em up and gave each a pint of PH'd water to start 'em off. They got water for the first four days, then full strength nutes since.

So here it is twelve days later, and I guess it's time for me to start a journal.

Not much else more to report - here's some pics of the ladies (Lefty & Righty). Thanks for looking!

Here's Lefty a few days from sprout. See the whitish coloration?

Here's Lefty now, at Day 12. See the white now? The seedling seems to be growing fine, but I'd love to know what the deal is with this little lady. Anyone know? @Waira ?

And one quick one of Righty. She's got a little less substrate, so she's going to look smaller overall because of that but of the two she's much shorter and compact, with much fatter Indica-ish leaning leaves.

And a shot of them both together under the Autocobs. So far, I'm loving the hell out of these lights and so are my plants. Much, much easier to work with than my pair of Mars Hydro 300w's, and way cooler too. Even after running for 16-18 hours I can hold them by their heatsinks if I need to move or remove them from the tent. TONS of light, too.

Please excuse the filter-on-the-floor-with-gorilla-tape monstrosity, lol. Will be upgrading to a non-shitty fan soon!

That's all for now! Thanks for looking, feel free to leave a comment! :thanks:

Subbed in man!! Can't wait to see the monsters that'll be coming on up!! I use x 4 AutoCOBs and they're ferocious machines. Just my two cents - I'd go to 24/0 for as long as you can & switch back to 18/6 closer to flowering to utilize the dark forces potential lol With 2 of them, you can ride them lower height wise as well, I found 18" during veg & 22" during flowering above canopy were sweet spots for the ladies. However, I also work with 4, so I cant go below 22" without risking leaf burn

I also highly suggest to play around & experiment with them within limits (as not to damage the ladies) - the adjustability of them gives SO many different advantages and possibilities - you're no longer relegated to a center box!! Some days I will make each COB height different so that each one covers different area bands - this way neglected areas inside each plant can get some PAR love as well

Welcome to the [HASHTAG]#AutoCobSquad[/HASHTAG]! I'm tagging along! I run 3 [HASHTAG]#Autocobs[/HASHTAG] in a 32"×32"×63" tent with 4 plants. Yours will have room to spead out. And based on your set up, they'll need it. You've got a recipe for some monster plants! Good luck!!

@ANTiFA first we grow the same plant, remember our critical Kush? Now we got the same lights lol.. I'm running 2 auto cobs in my tent now instead of that big bulky black dog i was using. I just placed 2 grape crinkle seeds by mephisto into jiffy pellets.. anticipation is killing me of trying these new cobs! I bought a quantum par meter and in my 2x2 the coverage is even corner to corner it's truly amazing.

Thanks! I'm really excited to grow some Blue Dream of my own. If these hold to the 75-ish day harvest time they advertise, I could be chopping/trimming on my birthday. :headbang: I think I'll hold 'em to the 18/6 schedule this time, but I plan to grow some Mephisto beans for the first time when these are done and from what I've read they suggest 24/0 straight through, so I'll see how it does with them. I will play around with the height though, for sure. @BigSm0 himself suggested starting at 30" just to get a hang of them, but it's pretty clear they're loving life so I think I can get the lights a little closer.

Yeah, not a bad idea. I think I'll really start playing around with things on my next run - this is only my second grow, so I'm trying to screw with as few variables as possible to start with - too many changes and it gets tough to determine what happened when things go boom, you know?

Anyway, thanks for the sub & the comments!

Much obliged! I've been excited as hell to get the cobs up and running, but I had to wait for my first grow to finish first. :face: Sounds like you have a nice setup - I'll be upgrading to a 2x4x7 tent soon, and will almost assuredly be snagging a third light as well. I plan on working my way up to a 1-2 plant perpetual once I've got a handle on the basics. Thanks for dropping in and tagging along!

What's an Autocob?

Can't tell you how exciting it is to Read. Well subbed in. If you need anything at all ask away. The brotherhoods getting deep. Plenty of knowledge floating around.

Hey man! Thanks for the sub. I can't tell you how psyched I am about these lights. Even the fact that they're not that horrible blurple color is good enough, but they're just *better*, dude. So far I'm 100% satisfied with my purchase, for sure.

Ive had the patchy trait in several autos...like budelee said, it doesnt see to be a problem whatever causes it.
That's really good to know, and very interesting. Lefty definitely seems to be cranking right along, so I guess it's official that it's not a problem. Thanks chum! :toke:

Haha. I do remember! How'd yours turn out? I went the paper bag method for drying mine, and it went perfectly. She's been curing since the 24th, and the little nugs I've been stealing here and there have been really nice. Definitely more heady than body. You're gonna love the lights, man. Mine are a total joy so far, no joke. Worlds away from the Mars Hydros I was working with.
