Lighting My first-ever Autocob grow! (HSO Blue Dream x2)

Check this out, my thermostat is on the floor inside the tent sitting further from the plants and its reading 88 degrees. The infrared temp gun is right dead center on the sprout and it's only at 71 degrees! Keep in mind im inside a tent, thats inside a closet with little ventilation so that there is pretty dam impressive to me. Shows you how cool these auto cobs run.

I just scanned my whole tent with that thing, the spots that were a couple degrees warmer is where the fans were inside the tent, go figure. But most of my tent is sitting around a cool 78 inside.the actual cob housing was 110 at the hottest spot.

Very interesting. I'm honestly pretty close to forgetting about my heat issues. My first grow was hotter than recommended, did pretty well. This grow is hotter than expected, and my plants were praying at lights-off this morning. Not saying that heat *isn't* a problem, but all things considered it hasn't actually had much of an ill effect on my plants so far. Go figure.

(Also, totally just finished this reply after starting it over an hour ago. this Critical Kush is hella spacey, lol.)

Damn bro I'm jealous. I have a flir that's a bit abused, that unit looks much nicer. What do you use your for? Poaching ?

I bought mine awhile ago for checking water penetrations below flat roofs. I had a leak about 4 years ago I couldn't figure for my life. The few hours after sun down highlighted the leak on the screen like a strippers highlights. Lol. Since owning one I have made quite a chunk doing the same for others on commercial roof inspections. Plus it's nice to check the area around my outdoor grow room at 2am. Already been hit once, no one can escape the flir.

Ya you should be fine with heat for now especially at this stage, i guess if temps hit 105 on my thermometer, i should start to worry a little :rofl:since theres play with actual temp to my thermometer. Ill chalk that up as a successful experiment! and yes I hear you man that critical Kush brings me to a whole new dimension lmao hard to properly function!

Lmao I almost died when I seen this, no it's not for poaching  I borrowed it from my buddy he works on heavy equipment, cars, trucks. Quick way to check calipers and exhaust I guess.. but ya its one of those multi-purpose tools so good to have. Me personally I have no use to actually own one. But thanks for the laugh :bighug::rofl:

Alright friendos. Since it's now past midnight, we're officially on Day 21. All's chugging along pretty well, exceeeept...I got spots on one of my girls' leaves. :nono:

First though, some pics of their progress. Remember, both were topped back on Day 17. I think I'm gonna be topping my plants from now on!

Now for the spots on Righty. Calling all plant whisperers! @Waira @namvet25 @budelee @BigSm0 @912GreenSkell ...and anyone else I forgot!

So far they're getting 18/6 light, autocobs are 24" away. Nutes are 16 oz. of dechlorinated tap water w/.5ml Armor Si, 7g Maxibloom, 6ml CaliMagic & .6ml Mammoth P per gallon. No signs of bugs whatsoever on either plant.

Hi @ANTiFA ... Nice looking plant even with the spot... My two cents says magnesium deficient under the cob... What media are you in?? Wait to see what Dr. @Waira has to say....question, the maxi bloom sounds a bit high for 16 oz of water ,whats the ppm of the feed? And the pH your feeding at??

Once Waira replies it's best to forget everything I have said lol. I think it's a bit early for nutrients nevermind that much. If you wanted to feed I would cut those numbers in half again. Even at full flower I use those strengths. But my plants suck this run.

Thanks man - I'm pretty happy with them! Media is Growstones, specifically the "Mix This!" size. They've been rinsed and PH adjusted to 5.5 as per manufacturer instructions before adding the plants. And there may be a misunderstanding on my nute strength - the MaxiBloom is at 7grams per *gallon*, of which I'm only using 16oz per plant to water so far. Not sure what the PPM is as I don't have a PPM meter at the moment. PH is 5.8. If it is a mag deficiency, how do I go about correcting it? More Cal-Mag? Epsom salts? Do I mix up new nutes, or just water in with the cal-mag or epsom on it's own?

Hey Sm0! Too early for nutes at three weeks in hydro? I gotta give 'em something, man - they're not gonna get anything from the Growstones, lol. And according to HSO, they're supposed to be able to "thrive wonderfully indoors provided it is given good lighting and a rich diet." Don't get me wrong - I'm not saying you're wrong, just that I was already at the feed strength with my first plant as I'm at with these two now and they ran alright.

Thanks for the comments, y'all. I'll keep it all in mind and see what I can adjust. Really hoping @Waira or one of the other Infirmary folks chimes in soon as well just to get a third opinion!

BTW, sorry @budelee & @BigSm0 if either of my replies came across as dismissive - totally not my intent. I appreciate the input/advice. Lord knows I'm not experienced enough to fix this on my own yet, lol.

I'm especially curious about it because the spots so far are black/grey, whereas the spots I experienced on my first grow were definitely a brownish, which seems to be more common based on the few charts of deficiencies I've seen.
