Lighting My first-ever Autocob grow! (HSO Blue Dream x2)

I'm still trying to figure that out too, I've grown 1 plant which yielded the same as 4 smaller plants. Now I'm doing 2. After this one, I will see if 1 or 2 plants is better and go from there. I wish I could upgrade to a bigger tent unfortunately I'm stuck with what I got for a while. If I had the room I'd love to have to 2 tents 1 for photo strains and 1 for autos.

Yeah. In all reality, I'm stuck with what I have for awhile as well. I don't even really have the scratch for a new fan, but what can ya do. As far as light schedules, I've become quite intrigued about 24/7 over 18/6 lately, and will probably be giving it a shot on my next run.

It's basically the amount of light times the hours each day. All these photo period grows and lights they sell are based on 12 hours of light each day. Trying to hit super high ppfd numbers. With autos receiving up to 24 hours of light each day you can inevitably run 1/2 the wattage to achieve the same dli. Twice the hours with half the light.

I thought it was cool as hell when i found out mephisto runs his strains 24 hrs, I honestly thought I was one of the few.

Yeah, I thought that was cool too. I have a pair of HSO Black D.O.G. photoperiod freebie seeds to run once these Blue Dream ladies are done, but after that I'm planning on making a pretty sizable order with Mephisto and seeing what they're all about. Gonna start the photos in the tent sometime in late july, then flip it to 12/12 once my current girlies get chopped. By that time I should have had time to get my exhaust & temps better controlled and ready for the Mephisto goodies.

I'm going to spam this picture everywhere I can. It's such a life saver for tent growers that don't and can't really benefit from ac's

Your fan plugs in and you set the temp you are trying to hit. It will energize the circuit when the temps above the set point.

Most know electricity isn't free and these exhaust fans do pull quite a bit of electricity. If your at the stage you don't need the smell protection setting your temp will save you plenty of watts. They also keep temps as stable as possible. But understand if it's 90 in your room your tent won't drop below 90. best money I ever spent. Even with my room air conditioned I have 2 of these in place set to 85 degrees in case failure ever strikes. 100 dollar black box could save a few lbs of canna.

Interesting. I'll look into it, but I'm not sure it'd be much help for my specific situation. I need to start off with getting a proper fan and finding a better place for the tent, even if it's only moving it to the other side of the room away from the exterior wall. I'd love to put it in our basement but there's just no good place for it that wouldn't be noticeable if we need workmen in besides the bathroom, but if I'm gonna go that route I might as well turn the bathroom itself into a grow room, and I don't have the energy and know-how to tackle that sort of project. First-world problems, right? :cuss:

On another note - got a little impatient and decided to top the girls last night. Looks like they're taking it pretty well. First time I've seen the leaves "praying", so it appears that 22"-23" is the sweet spot for the lights, at least right now. Probably gonna be starting LST tonight or tomorrow.

Looking good. Good choice. HSO blue dream auto was in my very first run. Came out great yielded between 3-4 ozs. Buds weren't the tightest probably my fault my weren't the loosest either. Dropping with resin and smelled oh so sweet berry peppery hazey. Buds were beautiful too. Everybody loved it. Especially me. I'll be watching. Also I believe this one was a quick and easy trim. Nice! That's a result to be proud of for sure. I would love to see 3-4oz per plant for this run. How long did yours take to finish? The run I just finished was my first, and it was listed as an 8-9 week strain, but it ended up going almost 13 before it was ready for harvest. :wall: Needless to say, I'm ready for a slightly quicker turn-around time this time around, lol.

Thanks for dropping in, feel free to pull up a chair! :pass:

If I remember correctly it took around 75days give or take a day. Taste was the same as smell too. You're in for a treat when they're done. This makes me wanna order more.

Right on. Looking forward to it for sure. :smoking:

So, more experienced chums: Is there any reason I couldn't or shouldn't leave my tent open during lights on? We had another stupid-hot day here today (pushing 100F w/humidity) and I'm really not happy with how warm my girls are getting during lights on. Right now until I can find the money for a new/proper exhaust it's the only thing I can think of at the moment to keep things a little cooler. The plants don't really seem to be stressed out about it so far, but....eh. Too damn warm in there.
