Introduction
Hello, I have been lurking around on the forums for a few days now. I am 33 years old and my fiancé has been having some serieus medical issues for the last year. After trying a lot of medication that was no good she recently started using cannabis oil resulting in some improvement of her symptoms.

I have always liked gardening and nature so cultivating our own cannabis seemed the obvious route to take.

Because this is my first ever grow I would greatly appreciate all feedback on our grow. I will be posting updates every few days.

Strains
All seeds germinated 2 weeks ago.

Set-Up
  • G-kit 400 wings: 80 x 120 x 190 cm (1m²)
  • HPS Philips Greenpower 600W (currently at 400W)
  • 300m³ suction fan
  • 325m³ 20 cm clip fan
  • 20L air pots
  • Digital humidifier
  • Netatmo thermo/hygro/co2 meter
Organic grow details
  • Soil grow (plagron promix: non-fertilized peat with worm castings)
  • Soil mixed with bio-nova microlife
  • Plagron power roots
  • Plagron alga grow
  • Plagron alga flower
Parameters in first 14 days
  • 400 Watts HPS - foliage on 20k lux
  • 20/4 light dark cycle
  • Day temp: 22-26 °C
  • Dark temp: 16-18 °C
  • 60% humidity
  • Watering 1L every other day with 1ML power roots and 1.5ML alga grow
  • Watering PH 6.3 - 6.7 (did not check soil Ph yet, I don't get runoff water)

Questions
  1. I find it very difficult to choose when and how much to water, I don't know if my plants are either too dry or too moist. I always let the first 3-5 cm dry complety out but because of the big pots I think it stays quite most in the bottom of the pot. Any feedback welcome!
  2. Some leaves seem to fold (see pictures below), what can be the problem?
  3. The leaves also seem to be light green, should this be darker?
  4. Can I use vinegar to lower my PH?

Looking good man!

How high are your lights from the tops of your seedlings?

Less is more in the beginning

The 400W hps is 40cm above the foliage of the cheese plant (whose leaves are folded most). It is 45cm away from the other plants. Can it be light stress?

Thanks for the input!

:welcome: You are asking some great questions! For watering the best thing is lift the pots and feel how they feel weight wise when they are dry and in need of a water then after you water lift again and water when it is more towards the empty weight the finger test doesn't help much especially with plastic pots cause like you said still wet on the bottom also don't use too much water smaller plants need less actual water when watering this could be an issue too I start out with around a half cup and work my way up to a gallon later in flower, water till just 10 percent runoff.

If your unsure of when to water right now sense you don't know the weight the plants leaves will start to droop when in need of water but they can also do this when overwatered so it's hard to tell with the drooping issue you have right now although it is kind of hard to underwater these plants as there somewhat drought resistant I suggest making sure she needs the water if she is overwatered this is crucial to recovery to let it dry out I have saved two plants this way but it could be underwater just hard to tell cause you half to work out the watering issues first.

For pain and medical use cbd is what will help, looks like you got a good cbd strain.

Also wouldn't worry about the light green you should be adding grow nutrients at 3 weeks which will add the nitrogen it needs to get darker. I suggest a quarter dose of what they recommend on the bottle to start.

Hello dude and welcome to AFN....I can't really give you any better advice than @bhaskara_phoenix and @ClydeWalters have already given.....but I certainly would like to see how you get on.....set up looks good too dude.....tag me in when you update...happy growing:smiley1:

hi and :welcome: @Kosbrand :pass:check out the med section https://www.autoflower.org/forums/medical-cannabis-discussion/
great starter set up
when and how much to water can be tricky.i keep a spare potted up pot, never watered sat in the corner for reference.when the plant pots are as light as the reference pot its time to water.
after week 2 ish water until some comes out the bottom.
slightly wavy leaves,thats ok
yep white vinegar is ok to lower ph
with 1L every 2nd day it could be overwatering ?could explain the slight yellowing.

@bhaskara_phoenix & @archie gemmill : Thanks for the advice on watering and pot weight. I don't have a spare pot with the same volume for now but I will definately try this next time. All I can say is that they feel quite heavy now although the top 7-8 cm of and side 4-6 cm of the pot soil were completely dry. When I put an analog moisture meter in to the bottom of the pot it reads that it is medium moist level. Don't know how reliable those meters are though.

I will check out the medical section for sure.

As light strength might be a problew (@ClydeWalters), what I have done now as a test is lowered my light power from 400W to 200W. The light strength dropped from max 30k to 18k. As a result the temperature also dropped from 23-25°C to 20-21°C. Let's see how this plays out.

20L pots could take a few days to dry out,im leaning to a bit overwatered.the finger pokey threw me to.i bought a cheap green moisture/ph soil meter, everytime i use it ph7/moist.only way i could get it into my head was by lifting pots up and down everyday for a month.
