New Grower My First Grow Journal!

May 11

Day 1

Just checked and the final seed has sprouted!! :woohoo:

So seven for seven on germination! Blue Cheese was the winner so she will be a couple daze older but I'm counting today as day one just to make it easy. They are only about an inch tall and looking healthy, can't find camera charger or I would throw in a quick pic. The light is running at 50% about 18 inches above, will turn it up to 75% in a few days and then 100% in about a week and will raise as necessary. Fan is on low blowing up into reflector to move some air around with temps at 77 at plant level. Timer is set for 20/4 starting tomorrow.. Exciting!! "Bailers Booya"

Good luck with your grow Zach.
Im sure you will fill that tent with green, keep us updated.

7 for 7, that's great man. You're going to have a lot of work on your hands, happy days :)
Get the camera sorted so we can have some pics!

Thanks for stopping in guys! I'm really starting to question seven plants in a 4 X 4 foot area.. I figure if it starts getting too crowded, I can move one outside. Hoping some of these ladies stay short, I may start the bloom feed a little early to slow down the growth if I need to. I really didn't think that autos could potentially get so large! It's spring here so temps outside are workable, just not sure where I could put it.. will worry about that when the time comes.

Cheers :tiphat:

That will be a good problem to have should it arise.. :) Because that'll mean you have a jungle going!

Day 4

All the ladies are looking good! I turned the light up to 75% two days ago and 100% this morning, they seem to like it and it's keeping things a little warmer. 600 MH running 20/4 about 18 inches above. We are in a bit of a cool snap and with the grow in my basement it can get a little cool sometimes. Temps are between 74-79 now and staying steady. Watering just plain water a little bit every night, like couple oz little bit.. soil still seems fairly moist from the original flush before planting. The girls shot up the first couple daze but seem to have slowed down, they are all around 2-3 inches, hope those tap roots are digging for gold in there!!

A couple pics.. the single is the Blue Cheese that popped first

Day 8

Starting to see some growth slowly buy surely! Was gone all weekend camping and worried about them a little, but they seem to be going strong. I'm giving a little water from one of those little paper bathroom/shot cups every other day the past two waterings. One plant per cup so maybe a couple ounces each, around the stem. I flushed the soil before planting so with the 25% vermiculite, the soil is staying pretty moist on its own. I figure better to under water if anything..

I also added about an inch or two of soil to the top of the pots a few days ago, 75% Happy Frog and 25% vermiculite.. I forgot to mention in my first postings that I like to leave the soil a little low, then fill it up after the seedlings have stretched. They seem to like it, gives them a little more strength too..

Looking great friend! It'd be rather interesting to see which one is which ;) I can't make out the name tags(?).

Day 10

Still only giving plain tap water, just a little every couple days.. vermiculite is holding moisture well. I will give the first good watering in a few more days with Kangaroots. We are in a hot spell right now so temps are hanging about 80 in the room. I have a duct from our central AC that I opened up yesterday to get some cold air in there so that helps. Haven't had to open it since last summer, I guess the heat is officially here. Hoping I can keep the temps down in there, I never thought about it but with the autos running 20/4 I've got that light on a lot more than with photos. Now I'm a little concerned.. I usually veg with T5 and cfl in the summer so I only run my HPS during flower at night. With autos my light will be running most of the afternoon when temps are highest.. It's always something isn't it lol!

Nice line-up! If everything makes it to harvest, you're going to have quite a selection :)

Is there anyway to switch up your light timing so you're off at the hottest part of the day? Or will that mess with something else?

These autos aren't as sensitive to switching up their cycle. Right now, I'm off from 4PM to 6PM when the house is hottest.

Sidenote: I've seen reports of that +Speed finishing really fast...like 50 days.
