Hey bro you could definitely start LST'ing this if you wanted (in my humble opinion.) Whether you should LST is a question you'll have to ask yourself if it's right for your situation. Remember, LST (Low Stress Training) is used typically to keep tall plants short and to manage your branching to help create a more horizontal, level canopy, which allows better exposure for lower branches and more equal light dispersion from the light. If you're growing multiple strains, if you're growing some big monsters, if you foresee running out of grow space, or if you want to try to maximize the area of the plant the light is hitting, it's a good deal.
I like to treat the plant stem like I'm bending copper pipe. If you take pipe and bend it over to make a 90 degree angle; you've just crimped the pipe and ruined the integrity of your inside diameter. If you gradually bend the pipe though, you can still get your 90 degree bend in it while keeping your inside diameter. I've used string, wires, paper clips, etc to LST; the best thing I've found (for me) are the fuzzy pipe cleaners that kids would use for arts and crafts. The fuzzy chenille provides some light protection to the stems from the wire, the bright colors are easy for the eyes to see, and it's super easy to tighten them up; reuse, and apply the right kind of tension with them.
Remember, go slow and gradual. Emphasis on the LOW STRESS part of the training. This typically isn't something you do one night and you're done; you'll be training them periodically through the grow as you go.
Just my "My 2 cents" bro! Good luck with it; post some pictures if you try it out! :karma Cloud:

I'll take a look at it for you bro; but in the future could you refrain from making new threads like this when you've already got a grow journal going and you just asked this in your journal? Trying to keep the forum clear of unnecessary clutter :smokebuds: Thanks bro! :karma Cloud:

If the plants about 6" and your 24" away then your spot on for light height. I let them grow into the light until they are 18" then keep it at that through the stretch. What you running the humidity at? as for ScrOG and LST as this is your first attempt at DWC, i would recomend concentrating on that at the moment. just my tu'pence worth.

Hey!
Thanks for stopping by with some amazing advice!!!
That's great! I think I will start.. From what I have read, think different are monsters and would be good to get a handle on them... The only reason I would do so is to increase yield... Would this increase much?
Thank you again andPeace
MaG
I have two Think Different's going in my space; yeah I would definitely recommend training them down if you feel comfortable. I think I've got two different pheno's; one is a bushy bushy monster and the other feels more like a tree sapling than a cannabis plant haha! Dutch Passion has some great stuff! :kusht:
As to your question on yield; I think LST definitely opens the possibility of an increased yield. There are so many variables that determine the yield. By exposing more of the lower branches and training down the higher branches, you're effectively created a level area of bud sites for your lights to shine on instead of having a big spire of a cola bud dictating the height of your lights (and that also acts as a big deflector for under growth.) That means equal light for all/most of your buds, instead of lots of light for the top buds and barely anything for the bottom. I can't promise you increased growth; but I can promise you all the other benefits I've listed :smokebuds:
DWC isn't my forte though; but I do have a lot of faith and trust in Hazy, so for what it's worth you may want to heed his suggestion on learning your grow system first. Or maybe pick one of the girls and make her your test subject. You've still got plenty of time to decide.
Good luck bro! :karma Cloud:

I'd go with Hobbs if you really want to experiment..try it out on one or two. The reason i ask about the humidty is, if it's quite high it can cause the plants to stretch a little more than normal.
